re: grilled redfish
Posted by LSUGrad79 on 5/8/12 at 2:22 pm to LoneStarTiger
There was a recipe for grilled redfish on the Outdoor Board when there was a recipe thread. Don't know if it's still there, I don't have the recipe with me. I did not think it sounded all that great but tried it anyway b/c the hubby catches lots of redfish. Anyway it was really good, from memory it was topped with mayo, Parmesan, chopped scallions, lemon slices w/pats of butter. Grill scale side down, I was surprised at how good it was!
We ate at Gulf Shores Steamers in Feb. it wasn't very good. Now I am comparing it to Old Bay Steamers in Ft. Walton, which is one the best I've been to.
If you go to Vintij, be sure to get a reservation. Check their website, they have some wine-tasting dinners coming up. Aside from the strip center it really is a great restaurant.

Town took forever to finish Sammy's in Central, too.
And wasn't there a 'restaurant review' thread that was sticky-ed? Bring 'em both back!
Grilled redfish
Gotcha, thanks Gris Gris
I just realized I have not heard from Martini lately, where is he?

We eat there about once a month or so, we like it.

Sonny's is legit BBQ, IMHO.
Tailgated in TV2 for 7-8 years, there are 5th wheels and travel trailers in there. Have not heard of any changes for next season, but I would check with the Athletic Dept. before making a purchase.

Yes, Mam you are right! Central does not need another Chinese restaurant, nail salon, hair salon OR credit union! LOL
I just noticed today that they are working on a location in Central, I've never dined there - how is the food?
The freshmen are stepping up in a big way, a lot of the older girls are injured right now. Loemincia(sp?) has got it goin ON with her floor routine! Fun to watch all these girls.

Just got home from the meet, always enjoy it. Didn't realize there were 4000 fans there, I did notice there was more fans than usual.
You would be surprised, it is one of our go-to dips for tailgating, has been for years. The entire family loves it.
Here's an easy dip:
3 - 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese (can use light)
16 - oz. jar picante sause (mild, med or hot - your choice)
Put in food processor until mixed well. Refrigerate overnight for best flavor. Serve with Frito Scops.
Quantities can be adjusted easily, this recipe will go a long way. We call it Pink Dip.

re: Valentines day reservations

Sullivan's royally messed up our Valentine reservations a couple of years ago. Friends without reservations got seated before us, after waiting almost an hour after our reservation time, we left. Will not be back.

Sammy's Grill, Caliente, Cafe Delphi, Fox's Pizza Den, and Deangelo's opened recently.
Hubby and I had reservations a couple of years ago for Valentine's day. Saw friends in the bar that did NOT have a reservation and had drinks with them. THEY got a table before we did, in fact an hour after our reservation time we got pissed and left. Will not go back even though we have enjoyed the food in the past. There are too many other excellent restaurants in BR to be treated like that.

No need to be as a$$. A friend was considering trying to purchase these tix, the first place I came was here for info, not to be attacked. GFY dude.

We got the same email, have you found anything else about this? I'm guessing it's a scam.
No mobs when we dined. Some got steak, some got fish, it was all good!
We had dinner last year at Belle Arti and it was very good. Wine list was good as well.
Thinking of ordering - have you ordered online from them?
I'm in, Seth Stevens is my nephew. So I'm biased, but he's a GREAT kid and one heck of a ball player! He played on one of the Marucci elite teams his past summer. Love that kid, good luck Seth and Nicholl's!!!!
re: Seafood gumbo recommendations

Thanks, Mitten.
Well, CW I am making a huge pot of chicken & sausage gumbo, having a house full of company and have other meals to plan/prepare, including the Thanksgiving meal for about 23 people. A gallon of a quality seafood gumbo would be a great addition, just wanted everyone's advise cuz I always cook my own gumbo! Appreciate the suggestions!
Thanks, guys. I didn't know Chris's had gumbo, there is one close to my house. Gris, I think I am gonna run out of time to make a second gumbo with all the other meals I need to plan. I haven't had Don's gumbo in a while, glad to hear it's still good.
