So who are our allies in this fight against the Chinese?
They’re there because Somali fraud and Tampon Tim are issues they feel can help strengthen their mandate with the base. If it were for immigration enforcement, Boarder Patrol would be, you know, at the boarder.
I mean his base will tend to accept his framing on literally anything. Like his ramp up on foreign military affairs after saying no more foreign wars. People are suddenly pro-war again to the point if we actually put boots on the ground somewhere, they could work their minds around to agree with it.
I’ve been frustrated by the modern Republican movement and come on here to argue about it. I still hold conservative thoughts and ideals like I used to but I’ll admit I lean to left on some. I’d argue that modern Trump movement is not conservative and relies mainly on what trump says on any given day.

I swear, you people think US greatness exists in a vacuum. Every single country was fricking us over and we gained nothing from our relationships with any of them while somehow becoming the world’s most prominent military and economic force?

Trump wants the oil from Venezuela. Maduro being a dictator was not an issue for him. He just wanted someone who will obey him.
They’re optimistic, but they don’t realize they’re near the bottom of our administration’s concerns. If we cared about the health of the nation and not just what we from it, then we wouldn’t be backing the Madurai regime sans Maduro. We’d also be trying to get elections done soon.

And finally, none of you seem to care about the concept of soft-power. Part of being in organizations like NATO has been the ability to enforce US will throughout the world non-militarily. We’re often taking the lead on things because of the appreciation and respect other nations have for the US.
All of this could be the result of this incredibly fricking stupid idea. The minerals there, which will cost a fortune to mine, cannot outweigh the consequences.
