Just got an insane repair estimate from the dealership. Seems odd they didn’t recommend the same repairs/replacement when it was under warranty.

White Sands may not be the best for numerous days but it is a really cool spot and very surreal, especially if you can go on a Full Moon night.

You don’t have to have 100% control over the market to have antitrust violations.
Agreed, I have never seen or heard much info about exactly what tactics were used to get to this point. I did some Googling and certainly had no idea Live Nation owns about 70% of the top venues and were somehow allowed to merge with Ticketmaster who probably controlled even more of their market.

You do understand the concept of monopoly, right?
Yea pretty sure I get the gist of it. However, there appears to be numerous other options for online ticket servicing. If other huge companies like StubHub can’t find a way to gain more market share, maybe Ticketmaster’s fee structure is justified. If there’s so much extra margin, what is keeping artists, venues, and other ticket services from undercutting them and making more for themselves?
quote:
I'm not on Ticketmaster's side at all, but some NFL teams and MLS teams use SeatGeek. So what is the justifiable claim that Ticketmaster has a monopoly?
This is always my thought on the issue. Ticketmaster is terrible, but why aren’t more Artists and venues finding another way? They are to blame as well for letting it get so bad for the fans.

Bad team inning. Two walks, both advance on passed ball. May have been double play potential on the bloop, but then Jones failed to lay out and make a play or at least knock it down.

You’re mad because someone else counted the zeros for you? If you want to disparage significant figures instead, you may gain more support.
re: Why are class B RVs so expensive? Compared to A and C class?

Class C’s are built on a bare chassis. Class B’s have to be cut apart and engineered to make room for all your “necessities”.
Not much in this story makes sense. The lawyer’s statement said the basketball team witnessed the murder yet no one has been charged with murder. They may have to cancel the bball season to protect them as well.

I’ve taught SPED for many years. Never heard of a gay or trans autistic student. I have heard of the occasional severely autistic kid who seem to be most sexually attracted to pillows though.

Unfortunately it’s a sad addition tonight with 3 people shot at a high school football game. First I’ve watched since they moved to Reelz. Pretty crazy night.

Hard to tell but looked like the back passenger bailed and looked like like the front passenger door was barely open too. Think that third guy was in the car as well.

So, have graduation shootings become a tradition for South Louisiana?
Shreveport had one after BTW’s graduation last Friday. That’s at least 3 now for Louisiana.
Did anyone see the video? I was so confused when I saw a clip and it’s all white girls in the video. HBCU doesn’t mean they are black.
There are some LEAP requirements for graduating high school, but it doesn’t mean much for K-8 along with actually passing classes. The time for testing is absurd, especially when you consider most Districts require Benchmark testing throughout the year (usually testing students on material that hasn’t been covered yet). Also, students who fail often are required to spend more class time retaking the tests. Louisiana released scores from last year, and less than 30% of Louisiana 8th graders were proficient in Reading and Math.

Transportation is the second-largest cost for American families
If this is true, it is not a result of fuel efficiency and gas costs. It is a result of adding car cost into “Transportation”. These cars will cost people more. Additionally, I find it hard to believe most Americans spend more on “Transportation” then they would if you divided other things into categories like child care, utilities, health care, etc.
I certainly never watch CNN, but I’ve seen some of her reports and they did not support the left’s, government’s, or CNN’s narrative. Some of the comments in this thread that got whacked were out of line. People can say whatever they want about that statement, but her courage in that chaos and some of the issues she has exposed that our government claims don’t exist have been remarkable.

part of me now thinks there isn’t much hope for getting honest reports from Kabul with her out.
Also without her/CNN running around, how much longer will the Taliban continue not killing anyone as Joe believes?
I hope y’all realize the people saying she did a great a job are talking about all her reporting the last couple weeks. The friendly statement, whatever she really meant by it, was embarrassing for CNN. Isn’t that a good thing? Along with all the other great things she did by showing and telling the world what was happening live, not “five days ago”? She’s been pretty much the only American reporter really in the chaos. Her reporting has also proven a lot of the info given by our government officials is false.
If the FDA is so confident of long term safety, why did they wait almost an extra year before even starting to study the vaccine on 13-15 year olds?
quote:
participants were followed for safety for at least two months
How assuring! So “overwhelmingly safe” really just means safe for at least the first two months.
quote:
quote: Nonsense. It's incredibly effective and to my knowledge there isn't a single veritable study that says differently. For how long though?
Exactly, we know that viruses mutate. Vaccines typically kill viruses effectively enough before they can mutate. This is not a vaccine and does not kill the virus, potentially allowing it to mutate.
quote:
I don’t think it’s reasonable, given the lethality of covid for some groups, to have waited much longer than they did. I think they could have waited for more data before pushing it on the sub 18 group.
I agree with that which brings me to my next point. Can one of the vaccine experts please explain what studies and data were used to change the approval age from 18 to 12 in less than a year? Did they put test subjects in a time machine? If all the data we have is so assuring of safety, why now in the biggest resurgence since the outbreak, would there be hesitancy to keep any age child from getting the vaccine. I’m sure when the All-Knowing FDA changes their mind again soon to 10 years old, lots of parents will be so happy they can do what they are told and be safe now.
quote:
Everything we have studied points to the vaccine being overwhelmingly safe.
So nice that early inconclusive data is pointing the direction you want, but the fact is it can cause harm and do so immediately. Tell me all the data we have about long term effects please. It’s still way too early to tell if the vaccine is even effective or if we causing the mutations. We know that you can still catch Covid with the vaccine and you can still die with the vaccine. What do we know about the potential risks of the vaccine besides appearing safe?
quote:
The risk for permanent damage over time to the organs is much higher in Covid-19 than the Flu.
If you want to compare to the flu, we also know that the “Vaccine” is causing damage to organs in some cases, myocarditis. Ever hear of any long term negative effects of the flu vaccine?
quote:
They're still studying this as to why it seems to have a bigger impact on some people over others.
They are also still studying the vaccine and it’s effects as well, but please continuing preaching to us how we should all rush to put something in our bodies we know nothing about except that it could possibly have harmful side effects.
