Buy a lot of shite, pay a lot of taxes. Save and dont spend and don’t pay.
This does not logically follow. Are you not using any public goods such as utilities, parks, roads, schools, etc. as a saver?

Income tax should just be enough to cover necessary services.
What is your definition of "necessary services"?
The taxation question is much more complicated than the OT geniuses like to think of it.
If you don't like your tax regime you should get more involved with local and state politics. That is where you can have the most impact on limiting or eliminating taxes you do not like.
quote:
After a certain age, you should be exempt from property taxes.
Why? Are you still using public goods 'after a certain age"? If yes, you should still pay tax.
quote:
t should always be developed to the highest and best use.
You sure that is happening? Destroying forests and farmland for shitty DSLD /DR Horton tract homes is not the best use of land is it?
I get your point but unchecked development is not a net good for society.

I read these vague statements all the time by the AI faithful but I rarely see any concrete examples.
I’m genuinely curious, baw.

Bro — the OT regularly shits on anyone or anything not engineering or blue collar.
I explained why college professors are left leaning, I didn’t defend them. It’s a simple explanation that hurts your feelings.
A world of only plumbers and engineers would be frickin boring as frick with zero culture or music or movies.
I never advocated for a world devoid of blue collar workers. The OT hive mind consistently shits on creative types and anyone not in engineering or the trades.

Meanwhile a liberal arts, gender studies degree etc contributes absolutely nothing to society. A plumber is 1000000x more valuable to society.
Ahh yes the OT utopia devoid of music, literature, movies, shows, artwork, and dance.
Just strip mills and DR Horton cookie cutter suburbs with a Walmarks and their big F-150s and no sidewalks or parks. That is peak human flourishing.
Curious that your reply guy response has zero substance as expected.
I’m right like always. Stay dumb and fat.

You are aware that flag burning is protected speech, correct?
And throwing a piss balloon on someone is battery, correct?

Conservatives and the GOP at large have demeaned and looked down upon a liberal arts education and the broader umbrella of the arts and academia for decades.
Why are yall shocked pikachu faced that academia as a whole is overwhelming liberal?
Why are you saying "our" universities when your political faction has been openly hostile to the very institutions for decades?
What happened to freeze peach and the battlefield of ideas?

Covered wagon to car is a subtle change.
The Tech Bro want to bring about an AI hellscape that is openly hostile to humans. Do you not see the difference?
The Tech Bros like Altman, Karp and Tiel are not shy about their hostility to the plebs and if given no guard rails want all of us dead as we are "useless" in their eyes.
Do you really trust the Tech Bro elites?
On another note -- Altman has admitted that there is no real path to make OpenAI profitable. How is this anything but a prolonged hype cycle?
Final meme that the Tech Bros either have not thought about or just don't care about -- just because you could does not mean you should.

I don't get the blue collar baws celebrating these layoffs as it is not good news for them...

I'm a proud American and an ardent supporter of our National Park system. I give to several parks throughout the year and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. Our national parks are our greatest treasure and we should do all we can to protect and preserve the wild places for future generations. 0 for 3.
Good job being completely incorrect, friend. Go touch grass and visit nature and you just might be awed by the magic of the wild places.

I was at Big Bend 2 months ago and the park is not trashed.
Boquillas Canyon has some Mexicans that leave some of their artwork to make a few bucks but it was not trashed.
Why do yall keep spouting off ignorantly?

Even though I posted a recent article stating the crossing in Big Bend are trending down and statistically zero.
Don't let facts hurt your feelings.

Number of migrants crossing in the Big Bend drops sharply as other sectors see surge
quote:
PRESIDIO COUNTY –– On the rugged Bennett Barrows Road at the western edge of the county –– 16 miles from pavement and less than a mile from the Rio Grande –– a metal cross stands near the spot where a man, walking into the United States in a group of eight, died on June 27, 2021.
Seven miles northeast of that metal cross where Jose Lopez Vasquez died in the 100-degree heat, another cross stands on another dirt road leading toward the Helios oil operations, and after that, the Coal Mine Ranch. This second cross, wooden but also set firmly in the earth, marks the spot where, six days before the death of Lopez Vasquez, a 15-year-old boy from Ecuador died while walking with his father toward the rim rock of the Sierra Vieja and Highway 90 beyond.
quote:
The Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector covers 517 miles of the Rio Grande, from Sierra Blanca in the west to Sanderson in the east. Total Border Patrol encounters with migrants in the sector, one measure of the volume of traffic, fell nearly 70% from a 2021 peak of 37,266 to 11,823 in the 2023 fiscal year that ended September 30. That downward trend appears to be holding into this new year, with 906 Border Patrol encounters through November, a rate that could lead to a total in 2024 that is even lower.
According to a Border Patrol spokesman, agents encountered 70 deceased migrants in the Big Bend in 2021 and 2022 and six in 2023. The Border Patrol says that sharp drop comes in part because of extra efforts to rescue migrants walking through the desert. The Border Patrol has installed 26 rescue beacons in remote stretches and responded to 16 calls for help from migrants at those beacons last year.
The Big Bend Sentinel
You border wall idiots want to ruin a beautiful national park for 11,823 people crossing?
Seriously? You think it is worth it?
There is already technology there monitoring the border which you obviously had no clue about.
Daddy Trump tells you how to think after all.

You and 225 are showing your ignorance.
Big Bend is a desert and is inhospitable for 6 plus months year with extremely high temparatures with little water or cover from the sun.
There are many stories of people dying in the park.
Nature is our best friend here and we don't need to destroy a beautiful natural landscape.
Being stupid is no way to go through life, bud.

Call & Write your Congressman: Big Bend is no place for a border wall
Posted by jclem11 on 2/26/26 at 7:54 pm
New plans to build a border wall through one of country’s iconic national parks, Big Bend National Park, risk permanent damage to the area. Treasured park features like Santa Elena Canyon and the Hot Springs could be permanently damaged. Thriving local communities, night skies and epic landscapes are at risk.
Letter to send to your Congressman courtesy of the National Park Conservation Association.
quote:
I oppose the recent proposal from Customs and Border Protection to expand border wall construction through the Big Bend region, including a significant portion of Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. The proposed wall would tear through some of Big Bend’s most beautiful spots, including the famous Santa Elena Canyon and popular park Hot Springs.
Building a physical border wall through Big Bend National Park would choke off vital wildlife migration routes, intensify flooding risks, and inflict irreparable damage to one of our country’s most iconic national parks. Customs and Border Protection already maintain a presence in Big Bend, given its status as a borderland park, and the current system is not presenting undue burdens on the park. Building physical barriers here makes no logistical sense and only serves to harm the region’s wild scenery and thriving community-based tourism economy.
Harsh desert conditions and unforgiving mountain terrain already form natural barriers along this portion of the border. Please reach out to the Trump administration and call for border security solutions in the Big Bend that don’t destroy this treasured national park.
I visited Big Bend over the Christmas break and it has a special place in my heart. We do not need a border wall that will ruin this magical place in Southwest Texas. Tell your congressman to vote no!
