Buddy has been at it since the high point of the 80’s

I think that he was originally a frequent caller to Norman "Nasty" Molvar's WKJN-FM sports talk show before Norman Nasty bolted to Slidell-area sports radio. Buddy's Sports Page was on WIBR-AM for years until Hurricane Gustav shut down the station permanently. I think that he was going to try to revive the show out of some Donaldsonville station at one point.

Historically, several old guard wealthy families have run the city and have openly discouraged outside businesses from relocating to there so they don't have to have any competitors. Too much reliance on gambling as a last ditch effort to try to save the city.

Very middle class city with no old guard rich families to block outside investments from coming in; welcomed new businesses and has therefore been the source of the bulk of the state's new jobs since the 1970s...big problem is that the lack of upper class people means most of the new businesses are just many smaller type businesses and really needs more big business coming in.

Wasn’t this the game Faulk was suspended for the first half?

No, he had 3 fumbles in the first half, 2 inside LSU’s own 5 yard line that Houston scored TDs off of. He was the reason LSU fell 20 points down at halftime, lol.

Originally it was just the east and west lower sideline stands.
Then the north end zone was constructed giving a horseshoe look.

I think that you just skipped a step. Weren't the original east and west sideline stands expanded and extended upward when the Works Progress Administration funding for dormitory buildings was used on the backside of the stands?:spank:

designed the North Stadium and South Stadium

Why did the South Stadium have to be designed so differently from the rest of the entire stadium? Why couldn't they save money on the design and basically just "flip" the North Stadium blueprints to have the structures in both end zones match? Standards couldn't have changed all that much in 20 years.

Graves and Gordon will keep donating

Graves doesn't personally give all that much compared to most boosters. He went to Georgia, and that is where his loyalty primarily lies.

However, Raising Cane's is one of the more common advertisers at LSU sporting events, but then again regular advertising only goes so far in paying off a $54M bill.

As for McKernan, he only has a fraction of the money that Graves has, and neither can be expected to bankroll the bulk of the buyout. In fact, none of Louisiana's three billionaires went to LSU, so none of them will help with it. Hopefully someone else comes along.

Isn’t he suppose to be at a meeting with Ole Miss in the morning?

To give his two weeks' notice. :spank:
LSU is in the SEC, which means that only a proven head coach who won at the Power 5 level should be hired...no risks are worth taking on unproven coordinators or even winning coaches from non-Power 5 schools. :spank:

in the last 25 years

Yes, but even Saban himself cited NIL, etc. when retiring. It's a different era now.

In addition, LSU now owes $54M to a single coach and is getting sued for trying to get out of paying that, and any coaching candidates would understandably be hesitant to believe that LSU can be taken at its word and would be able to redirect any remaining booster money to that new coach's salary and NIL instead.
Well, he had failed runs with the Raiders, Tennessee, and USC, was accused of “self-report” style NCAA violations at Tennessee, had the off-field “Joe Freshwater” drama attributed to him, was fired mid-season at Oakland, USC, and Alabama…is that enough? Should I keep going?

Frank does not have the authority to hire and fire

Didn’t Orgeron say that when he was made interim head coach that he decided to remove the coordinator, promote someone in his place (Ensminger), and brough someone back into the program mid-season (Jenkins)?

When it turned into the late, lamented "Varsity Take Two" at the end of the '80s, it was ahead its time.

Holoweiko needs to be fired if they waste this trip by bringing the Full Band and just sit there like Cypress Knees. Unacceptable.

I'm guessing that you haven't been to any LSU home games recently. The band can't be bothered to play almost any song at this point if there is a stoppage of play. Back in the old days, they played a countless number of songs during commercial breaks, etc. Now it is all piped in rap music. :spank:

I think that they march to that same exact "Yogi-Bear-is-smarter-than-the-average-bear" song each and every game, and year. Should have the marching routine to that song absolutely perfect after all of those performances of it by now... :dunno:

I really don’t remember much about him being on MNF.

It was claimed that he was mainly just cracking preplanned jokes about the proper way to pronounce players' last names and that he couldn't generate one-liners on the spot to describe a play that had just happened. I liked him a lot though and wish that the network had just shaken off the haters and kept him. :usa:
