Deflection. When someone knows they can't defend a point, they post the last score when they beat you.

You do realize that Urban did not release Cam for one incident that he claims to have been innocent in don't you?

Actually, Urban did not "release" Cam at all. He was not kicked out of school. Not that he didn't do the things mentioned, but he transferred from FL to Blinn JC. He would never have played at FL anyway since Urban was sold on Brantley.

This is what never made sense to me from the beginning.

Probably to make sure he wouldn't have to face him on a rival team.

Please explain this sentiment. Had you rather this NOT be discussed? I bet you relish any discussion about other programs' problems. This isn't the spineless Alabama media where nothing bad about bammer is allowed to be brought up.

Paying a player's dad 250k+ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a coach "accidentally" running into a recruit at a restaurant during the dead period.

How can you even compare the tw
o?

No comparison really. One is known to have happened (UF). The other - we're still waiting for someone to prove it was anything more than internet rumors. (AU).
quote:

You guys sure were hoping.

It's pathetic.

So are those still hoping the NCAA will come back and strip AU's national title pathetic also?

Just because the NCAA gave no penalties, that doesn't mean you're innocent. Am I right? Just trying to remember how it goes.

I think Booms wife graduated from AU.

Not sure where she graduated, but her family lives in central GA. I think Muschamp got his master's from AU but not sure. I know they loved Auburn while they were here.
quote:

Screw Cam and screw his daddy harder. If Cam was a man of his word & came to State without seeking $$$$ then this would be our 2nd National Championship run within 5 years.

Don't be so sure. After the deal fell through at MSU, Cecil got worried about the NCAA and Cam potentially getting in trouble or having to sit. Then he compared the offensive lines of MSU and AU. Cecil actually saw AU as the program where Cam would shine. Chizik was not that convinced at first.

Cecil may be a scumbag, but he knew which way the wind was blowing and wanted no part MSU after being turned down. Why would he go into the same situation at AU or any other school, knowing the NCAA would be watching after MSU (supposedly) turned in all the information? No way he was soliciting money anywhere else if the NCAA was already privy to the information. Cecil saw NFL money and did what he needed to do to get Cam in the right situation. It eventually worked for him, but he lost his integrity in the process.

That pretty much sums it up.

We want to win every game. We want to win championships just like everyone else. But we DO NOT want to be like bama.

Most folks in Alabama have a choice of which team to be a fan of. You can see which ones choose bama. Just look around.

The lil bro name might be there but when one of these obnoxious fans comes up to me and yells row tahd, I feel anything but small. I feel vastly superior!
And these are the same people who will come up to your with their faded bammer gear on and say Row tahd and act like you're stupid for being a fan (graduate) of AU or any other school. They just can't see what fools they are.
This is a situation set up to degrade a fan base by making them run across a football field to worship their god. And they still do it. Do it with joy.
I think the part about the kid loving to yell Roll Tide to passersby was interesting. So this is taught from birth, it seems. And the brother is passing it down to his little sister. I know his parents are bursting with pride over that.

Oh, and the comment from the former wife is hilarious.

From the defense on here, wonder if papa is a fellow ranter.

re: Story of a dog's last day

Posted by tampajoe on 7/13/14 at 10:08 am to
It's not depressing at all - just a little sad - but most of all a celebration of the dog's good and happy life.
All I see from AU folks are responses to the whining that UGA fans have in the last few years become so great at.

NCAA finds no wrongdoing about Cam, and we beat you. Run to the SEC with cries of dirty play from Fairley (even though you had an orchestrated play against Fairley and your coach encouraged thugism.)

NCAA clears AU from any wrongdoing - go on for years anyway about how AU cheats. Too bad. I know you had high hopes about that.

2013 miracle win. Although certainly not the fault of fans or the school - the hatred is renewed with digging up and constantly mentioning that AU bought Cam.

2013 SEC championship with one of your former players - AU shouldn't be there because they're cheaters (I guess bammer should have been even though they just got off of years of probation and AU has not been on probation in 15 years.)

Jealousy because of your own failure to win any sort of championship.

AU giving your dismissed players a second chance. The horror. It would have been okay if someone that doesn't have to play you yearly had given them a second chance but no, more whining and on and on and on.

So much whining and finger-pointing.

Learn to take it like you dish it out.

Make no mistake about it. AU is NOT jealous of anything about your program or your coach. We love our program and our coach, so live under that delusion if you want to.

If you check the Bios on the Auburn web site it says they sat out the year to satisfy NCAA transfer rules....they did NOT walk on.

Found this in a 2012 article *Chizik awarded three walk-on scholarships: running back Corey Grant, defensive back Trent Fisher and snapper Jake Lembke. “All three of those guys have done a great job here,” Chizik said.

I don't know what that means exactly, but it sounds like Grant had been there as a walk-on without a scholarship, at least for some time.

But don't say they have to walk on. Because the don't.

Like I said, I don't know the particulars of this issue - IF Auburn takes him. But he can't come directly from UGA to AU, can he, and play the first year? If he goes to jr college and keeps his nose clean, then he would not have to walk on at AU if we still want him. I don't think we would take a chance on immediately giving him a scholarship with his current situation. Why shouldn't he have to work to prove himself before he gets another free ride?

When I see where Auburn has taken in Jerry Lee Dufus, Florida's 3rd string long snapper who was kicked off for being charged for petty larceny and assault, then I'll consider the noble, humanitarian aspect of it all.

When shorty had the 4 thugs/thieves get in trouble, who did he let back on the team? The ho-hum ones? Nope. He let the best player back on the SAME team even after he had assaulted fellow students and stolen from them. The others? They were mediocre anyway, so they were processed. Now, who is is that takes only the good thugs?

Really? Did Cam newton and nick Marshall walk on?

They went to jr college and proved themselves there. IF Gus takes Tray, he can't play immediately anyway, so why waste a scholarship on him until he shows he has what it takes to straighten up and be part of the team. Is jr college an option for him? I haven't kept up with the details of this.

Because that's the only kind we take - good ones.

I don't hate Auburn. Such as that should be pitied.

I hate that bammers think AU fans should be pitied. We are very content and do not want to be bammer fans. If we did, we would. We have a choice.

Also hate how they think everyone in the world wants to know what team they pull for. Every day. Every conversation.

Gus was a great cheater in the high school ranks, no surprise he would continue at a program notorious for it.

Arkansas was the one who hired Gus from high school coaching. So this means Arkansas is the known cheater?

Or is this something you made up out of envy and angst and decided to post as fact?

re: Arrest Nation CFB

Posted by tampajoe on 5/21/14 at 8:29 am to
Soooo. Out of the 3 schools without arrests (lately), only AU is covering things up? What about AK and FL? Your bias is showing just a teeny bit unless you have a link to show us why you think things are being covered up there.

You could probably say the same thing for those with good APRs. They MUST be covering up the failures and bad grades.

Unless it's YOUR school, of course

How lame can you get.
State media. A lot of the national media picks up their news from the bammerham news and other local news sources (lazy journalism) who have to please the bottom feeders of the state to keep their jobs.

You should read it sometimes. Any good news about AU is reported BUT there has to be a negative twist or a reference to something better that bammer has done.

Was it 2004 when AU played in the Sugar Bowl - and the day before the game there was a HUGE story about Bahr with color pictures and much fawning - instead of excitement about AU being #3 in the country and undefeated. Got to keep the masses happy at the sacrifice of integrity.
quote:

I believe every allegation against auburn..definitely the dirtiest school in the conference and have been for the better part of 30 years

And yet AU hasn't been on probation in that 30 years. Someone in this state has though.
quote:

It really is amazing how easily we have collectively let AU off the hook for this.

Well, how about some suggestions about keeping us "on the hook."

It's been discussed plenty - and totally by fans of programs who weren't good enough to get into the championship game.

I think it's fine with AU fans for you to discuss it among yourselves. AU actually was better than any team in the SEC (if you disagree, win your own games) and earned a spot in the national championship game against very high odds. The coaches and players played hard and lost - which one team every year is going to do. The team gave us entertainment and thrills throughout the year.

I think it's hard to have us feel embarrassed or whatever you would have us feel. It's a new season, and Auburn won the SEC and played for the national championship last year. We have excellent coaches, excellent players, excellent recruiting, and fans who support their team.

Keep trying though. Maybe you'll drum up a little blushing icon from someone. I doubt it though.

Par for the course. Saben knew he was not going to use him as RB, told him he would, and therefore kept him away from a rival school - temporarily. "

The players would do themselves a favor to think for themselves sometimes though and try to see through these promises.

We don't play any QB worth a shite compared to their predecessor. TAMU - Downgrade LSU - Downgrade Arky - Same....so still shite. Miss State and Ole Miss - Only ones oddly enough that are worth a shite Auburn - Nick is a terrible QB but the system makes him look like a god....

Bama's Nick Marshall is on his way.

So you're saying Sims is a terrible QB?

Which university looks the worst - the one on whose watch the bad stuff happened - or the one where they were given a second chance and behaved themselves? Matter of opinion, I guess.

AU. He said, "Miami."
