I’m sorry for your loss. As an LMSW working in crisis management at a community mental health clinic as well as serving as the director of our local 988 call center. Since 988 went live in 2022, replacing the 1-800-273-TALK number, I’ve been amazed at how many people are still unaware of it. The 988 crisis line is such a valuable resource, and I want to remind everyone that there are trained professionals available, ready to listen and offer support. If you or someone you know is in crisis, you don’t have to go through it alone.

Sounds like we are in the same field. I am a LCSW at a community mental health center in Arkansas and when I started in this field I wanted to be attached with the local PD and go out with them on crisis call. And like you i am sending people hours away for placement because our local inpatient facility with 200 beds is constant at capacity and you can just forget about getting people admitted to the State Hospital in Little Rock.

I am a Forensic Social Worker that gets to hang out with criminal types all day. I do this to get away from my 6 kids at home (i kid i kid). My job is just for fun money and insurance. Wife (no pics) is the bread winner.

Looks like a Kabuki Doll (Kabukiya Doll Store) my daughters have several as they were passed down from my grandmother. They have a watermark underneath.

And that is why there are so few of us that is willing to foster. I opened my house in Arkansas in 2016 and within 24 hours had my first sibling group of 3. After 4 years of attempted reunification when the kids would come back depressed and angry that their mother didn't make it to visits. It was just so hard to see these kids going through that. After like I think 7 no shows to court the judge finally terminated the parental rights. Then they told us they would have to separate them to find them homes. I was like screw that I would adopt them. But thank you and your wife for opening up your house to a child in need. Now back to lurking in the shadows.

Family and I was on these Ducks 2 weeks ago. They let children drive the ducks when they are on table rock. So it could of been a 10 year old in the stock photo. I don't know if they did this with this boat since there was a thunderstorm warning but you would think they wouldn't have even went into the lake.

Wife works for a small firm. Works about 65 hours a week during this time of year, Making me a single father for the next few months to 3 bio and 3 foster children. YAY FUN. But wouldn't trade her for the world.

I hear you about the grind nursing. More specialties than other. I'm a mental health nurse. and I'm experiencing burnout. and I'm only 1/4 the years that you have I feel burnt everyday but I love my job. Is it possible to love and hate your job at the same time.
