I want to hear lots of bama bama bama won't you bite my arse!
Tigah, you are correct about 1997 being the year wjbo lost it but trust me, 1210 was in their umbrella. I was a DJ there then and handled the imaging.
1210 the Score existed because it was part of the transaction when Gulfstar bought the River in 1996. It was Christian at the Music at the time but was flipped when the renewed LSU contract mandated women's basketball. It wasn't going on Wynk, wfmf, or River. The signal is so bad that independent contractors were the best way to break even.

The only chance for independent contractors is the 1,000 watt KKAY 1590 who by the way makes its money from gospel.

As far as ratings go. Moscona finished 5th in the fall book last year in adults 25-54 ahead of Wynk, tiger country, wjbo, river. 5th in men and women ... That equals cash fellas.

Songe and Ott was there best rated day part. Gonna be interesting what happens. The right mix of local and national shows is what big market stations are doing. 104.5 needs another local show.

Tigah Rag, you are "spot on" and I have been following your work as you do a nice job. Sounds like our paths have crossed before....

I will correct you guys ...Ott and Guaranty are actually OK. That being said ...seems like popular choice would be Ott or Jordy?? No love for Krysan and Landry??
Here is something for discussion......if you were 104.5 ESPN ...who would you take if you could only take ONLY ONE SHOW??
Actually on 12/26.

My information is correct. Clear Channel sent an e-mail at 12:01 a.m last night informing their Baton Rouge staff that 1210 was switching to Gospel. The market manager called each one of the hosts to inform them that the station represented 3% of the cluster revenue and 46% of the labor cost (board-ops, Condon, etc.)

There are only three station targeted at the urban population which makes up 30% of the Baton Rouge TSA market. All of the stations are owned by Cumulus. Clear Channel is hoping to take a portion of those ratings away from Cumulus while increasing their revenue by two or three. They were not going to make a dent into the sports market which Guaranty owns with LSU, the Saints, and ESPN radio which pulls in three times the revenue that 1210 did.

The better question is .....who are you? I call Bull-Shite on you because my sources are concrete.
Yes, the hosts all received phone calls this morning.

No, this isn't a stunt. 1210 is gospel - the same Hallelujah format they have in New Orleans and Jackson, MS.
All of the hosts for 1210 got a phone call this morning informing them of the change! Happy New Year!
