The average street level protestor is acting on emotion, not logic. It’s simply an appendage of the victim narrative body of resentment and rage.
These are the same people who got participation ribbons and trophies. Their parents were worried about how little Timmy and Susan would feel about not receiving one if they didn't win.
My 2 boys are 23 and 19, during their field day events in elementary school, I didn't let them have the ribbons unless they came in 1st, 2nd or 3rd. They had to learn that there are winners and losers in life and you're going to have to deal with it if you lost. Lose with grace and win with humility and I beat their arse if they acted a fool!

Why did you go with a Garmin fitness tracker/sports watch instead of their golf watch? Do you track more of your fitness than golf?

GPS watch or range finder?
Posted by dek81572 on 1/15/26 at 10:31 am
My range finder fell off my cart and I ran over it :banghead: I'm in the market for either a GPS watch or a new range finder. For those who have either one, what do you like or not like about each. Looking to spend around $300 for something but I can't make up my mind which one I want. Thanks for your help in this matter.
re: School Bus driver walks off bus and abandons 6 children in New Orleans East

I can see how this could happen. When I retired from the FD, I thought I wanted to drive a bus, make a little extra money for limited hours and another retirement. I took the class, got the license and started driving, you had to start as a substitute driver. I drove all over Bossier Parish and finally told them that if I didn't drive in the City, I'm out. All those country roads and the directions/ route descriptions from the drivers were terrible, I got lost several times. One time, the driver told me to just pick up the first kid, she would tell me where to go, well, she was sick that day. I wanted to just go back and park the bus. It was 6:15 am and dark outside, luckily the next stop was about 100 yards away so that kid helped me. The country routes had to stop at every house because they were on state roads, they didn't want several kids walking along those roads to meet up at a central spot like in a neighborhood, those routes took a while.
I worked for the FD in Bossier City for 26 years so I knew the city like the back of my hand so i ended up getting sub routes in the city. The Middle School kids are the worst, especially in certain school districts. Those kids, to be more specific, the girls would fight almost every day, right there in the school parking lot. We're not allowed to stop them, we're to pull over and call the cops. :banghead: One day, the kids were so bad and loud on the way home, I pulled over and just sat there. It was the beginning of the school year and it was HOT, no AC, I had a fan but nothing else. After a few minutes, the kids started asking, why aren't we going home, I told them I wasn't going anywhere until they sat down and shut up, after about 15 min sitting in the heat, a few of the bigger mature kids got up and started taking care of the problem kids and we left. I did that for about 3/4 of the school year and quit, it was not for me.

I'm not going to lie; I have a soft spot in my heart for Coach DiNardo. Say what you will about him but most of you young kids have no idea what hell he brought us out of, the late 80's and early 90's were awful and he brought back the magic. When he took over, LSU hadn't had a winning season or ranked in 6 straight years. His first three years were pretty good winning bowl games against Michigan State, Clemson and Notre Dame. He fell off pretty bad after that, but he brought back the white jerseys for home games and made us respectable again, so I appreciate him for that.
55 and under with 15mph wind, I'm out. In the 50's, sunny and little to no wind, I'll play and use the same ball, Maxfli TourX

Lets do it. I'm up for playing anywhere
I'm in, what day and time and where at?
His wife is a huge problem, she's a mean person for sure. He wouldn't really have to sell the land the golf course sits on; he can keep all the mineral rights. He needs to sub out control of the golf operations either to the members at Stonebridge or to a company like Troon. I'm not sure how that would work but something definitely needs to be done. Old Oaks needs a substantial amount of work. My son works for Trace and I've talked to the superintendent out there and he seems to think that he could get the grass out there looking good withing a years' time, but they would have to completely revamp the irrigation, redo all the greens and either get rid of or fix the bunkers. I don't know if there anyone or any golf management company that would want to tackle a complete overhaul of that place, there is potential but the amount of money it would take would probably make it unfeasible to do so.

Really hope the Olde Oaks/Stonebridge owners sell at some point.
Well, he's under investigation for being a Chinese National that owns the golf courses on the North and South end of Barksdale so maybe there's a chance :usa:

there's only 3-4 decent public courses in SHV/Bossier and they're normally packed to the gills
You're right, golf in Shv/Bossier is pretty bad. Stonebridge is nice but not $80 nice, Olde Oaks is just awful, Querbes is always packed and a few greens are almost unplayable but they act as though it's the pimo spot to play in the area, Northwood greens are terrible, Crooked Hollow isn't terrible, Huntington is in really good shape and they've done a lot of work to it, they have poana starting to grow on a few greens and they better nip it in the bud quick. Eastridge and Soithern Trace are really nice but not worth the 5 grand down and $1000 a month to play, at least to me anyway. Just not many options.

Has to be better than olde oaks for $50 lol
It absolutely is. It's a shame, Olde Oaks used to be so good. I was a member when it first opened. Hal had an office in the pro-shop, and he and Freddie would hit the range and the Meadow course almost every day. Hal had is bag full of Srixon balls and would hit them out on the range and Freddie would be out there picking them up. It was amazing how well he struck the ball and all of them would be in a tight grouping, so they were easy to pick up. It's not like Mystic Creek to where you're done you say to yourself, I have to come back and play here but if you're in the area it's not a bad place at all. I wouldn't drive an hour and a half again just to play it.

Played it last Friday. Wasn't in the best shape, fairways not bad, bunkers were awful and a few greens weren't up to snuff but for $35 cart included, not a bad place. Some of the holes were visually stunning right beside the lake and there seemed to be a lot of blind tee shots. Pretty hilly course and tight tree-lined fairways with thick underbrush, if you hit it off the fairway, you're on trouble. I bet when this place 1st opened ot was awesome since Hank Haney , Tiger Woods old coach, helped develope it. Id probably go back and play again sometime for something different. I wouldn't say it's a must play, its a play it if you're in the area and want a fun cheap couse to play.

Ping 425 or Sim2Max with any SR shaft will do
I recommend ping 425 fairway woods 3, 5, 7 and 9 wood, easy to hit and get into the air with any SR shaft
Cleveland Halo XL irons 6-GW, with SR graphite shafts, large heads and soles on the club to help get though the turf and in the air.
Cleveland Smart Sole wedges, same as the irons.

hear Mystic is incredible. Better than Squire.
I've played Squire before too and both are awesome but I'd have to give the edge to Squire but Mystic is harder. Played Mystic last Friday for the 4th time and I finally broke 90, chipped in for birdie on 18 to shoot 89, I'm a 7.3hcp and that place kicks my butt. Over 7500 from the tips, I played from 6700. Tight tree-lined fairways, lots of water and almost impossible green complexes, I seriously don't know how people shoot under par there.

Matthew 7: 21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Has anyone played this lately or within the last few months? We live in Bossier and have played everything around here including Pine Dunes, Mystic Creek and Tempest and want to play somewhere different Friday. It's pretty cheap but pics look nice but they can be deceiving.
