Why do these bitter liberal women all look the same?

Imagine going back in time to 2005 and telling a random Bama fan that Tuberville would be a senator/governor of Alabama. Alabama fans had a white hot hate of the dude after the thumb.

Pretty ridiculous that any self respecting Bama fan supports him after the way he smugly rubbed it in our face during our lowest point. He’s been an arse and always will be. I get voting for him over Doug Jones but it’s a shame we’re even in this position.

It was an indictment of the quality of people running for governor here.

Tommy Battle, Lew Burdette, plus there some who didn’t want to challenge an entrenched incumbent.

She is as infirm as Biden. The autopen has been a thing in Montgomery for years but nobody serious wants to call it out.

Her being able to serve 10 years without even a challenge is an indictment on the laziness of the Alabama voter.

You just made my point for me. Those schools could pay while teams like Indiana werent able to pull it off.

So teams like Indiana couldn’t afford Dodge Chargers but now they can afford millions in NIL?
Paying Ty Simpson that much is crazy. He’s got talent but there are reasons he sat behind Milroe. He had a nice little stretch in September but he’s also not the brightest or confident QB. Not saying he couldn’t do better with a change of scenery or better coaching, but for $6.5 million you better be getting a fully formed ready to roll QB and Ty ain’t it.

But my question is where do you get those figures?

On3 Portal Rankings

how do you know that? It appears that you are wrong.

We are 60th in the portal ranking at the moment.15th in the SEC. You really think we’re that poor?
quote:

Nah, but the mystique of playing here is gone and we dont have an aggressive enough staff.

Agreed.

The concerns within the program are much deeper. If they are not adequately addressed, the significant marginal money will disappear.

This. “Texas and A&M are outspending us” is a convenient excuse to paper over real realities within the football building.
quote:

And to your RB comment. No one should pass judgement on kids running behind that OL.

Both can be true. We had putrid OL blocking but anytime we had backs who got to that second level, they neither had the speed, twitch, or strength to shed tackles to do anything with it.

People are “crying” (meaning they’re not putting their head in the sand about this staff) because we clearly didn’t have a plan for the portal even if we are trying to have a low budget approach
Do we have bigtime oil money like then Texas schools where we could write blank checks? No. But we have money to be competitive and should be yielding better results than what we’re seeing in the portal thus far.

Folks need to move on not only from the Saban years, but also the old-school Rah-Rah where we expect the athletes to play for pride and the love of the institution.

Who’s expecting any of that? Nobody thought we had a real shot with Cameron.

To shore up depth at the position.

Top Ranked RB in the portal and we just had the worst rushing offense in school history….but yeah, we just needed him to be a body.

But sure, let’s depend on a true freshman.
So the staff offered Cam $2 million just to appease fans?

Tell us more about this dominant OL we have
quote:

This guy isnt better than anyone Bama currently has.

Then why did the staff go after him?
quote:

I want them to actually look and act like they have some semblance of a plan. Let’s not act like we’re only losing out to Texas at the moment. Yeah, the transfer portal is like the NFL free agency, most players are technically going to be overpaid, but let’s also not act like we’re a school looking for loose change.

Correct. We’re 15th in the SEC in the portal at the moment. Not only are we losing guys, but we’re getting out maneuvered so we are even losing leverage, optics and precious time. If the coaches had zero plan for the portal, then this last week wouldn’t have looked any different.

We can blame big money schools outbidding us but this staff isn’t exactly playing moneyball either.
quote:

Don't announce it when a guy commits to play for Bama? God forbid they take a kid at his word.

You mean the kid who did a hat switch on us on signing day?
quote:

What do you want them to do? They can't force guys to sign

Then don’t announce it and move forward with enrolling in classes. This isn’t hard.
