Might be on to something here. Business shareholders hold all the cards, not costumers. Businesses have to focus on maximizing profits, not qualty.
This has been a steady progression over time, not abrupt.
That being said, there are nice things out there, with very skilled artists and tradesmen, but they are hard to find and most people can't afford.
