81 at U-club today. Course is in phenomenal shape. Greens are perfect.

Well.. Someone paid for me to play both. But with caddy and tip and green fee, it was about $600 per man. Overpriced but an unforgettable experience. It was a perfect day too.
They are open to the public, but usually you have to stay at one of the hotels on the grounds to get a tee time. If not you can only get a 24 hour advance tee time if they have the availability. I called them like crazy and finally talked one of the people to hook me up with a 1 month in advance time. Try that.
Spyglass is half that. Like someone else said, it's by far the toughest course I've ever played. Plus the wind was blowing about 40mph. The starter said on that day that if we played the tips where the pros play, it was playing about 8500 yards..

I got 2 on that list. Pebble and Spyglass Hill.
I'd like to hear how he got on some of the other courses like Cypress Point and Pine Valley. I know it's close to impossible these days.

Yeah 13 is the only reachable but even that one requires a great 2nd shot.
In the scramble we played on saturday, we were on in 2 on #3 but I hit a CRAZY slicing 3 wood. It was a sportscenter shot.

Yes. Yeah 3 and 6 require some sort of miracle 2nd shot to get on in 2.

Friend and I were talking about the worse hole designs around here. The 18th at Royal in Slidell takes the cake. Always cringed when I got to that hole.

Yep that's the one. I hit a 6 iron into that par 3 to about foot. Pin was in the middle of the bowl.

That's a tough driving hole. Visually as well. in a scramble we could only muster a 200 yard 3rd shot.. We all caught that stupid tree on the 2nd shot.

Long drive hole was #10. Fella in the group ahead of us hit his tee shot to about 20 yards in front of the green from the Eagle tees. And it was wet.. He put his clubface all over that ball!
I was thinking about some dynamite on those trees in the middle of the fairway on #6.

Played Atchafalya sat am. Fun course. Couldn't make a putt, but the greens were punched. Tightly cut fairways too. i bet in the summer, the ground gets really hard out there.

Played there Saturday. It was in great shape. Greens were a little on the slower side, but rolled well. You'll enjoy it.
