Yeah, I may have misspoke. Knew he worked at Charlie’s for a long time. For some reason I thought it was a nephew but maybe not. Charlie’s wife isn’t really an owner. She was just helping them get started. In the beginning, she was there all of the time, not sure about now.

Marlie’s is good. The owners are the wife and nephew (I think) of the original Charlie of Charlie’s in Springfield. If you liked old school Charlie’s, you’ll like Marlie’s and I do! :)

I'm good with all of this but I am a little concerned with the average store clerk being able to determine what is acceptable and what is not, based on those descriptions. If a detailed listing is provided, it's likely to be extensive. Then again, I'm not familiar with how the snap program is implemented and/ or managed, so they may have controls in place. :dunno:

Brought my wife out for lunch. We had Mexican. Thought I was done for the day. Stopped by the store for milk and spied the olive loaf. Melted the cheese into the sandwich. My wife does not seem to appreciate the finer things on life! :)

I am, just not as often lately. During football season, the bar usually cooked for the games on Sunday, which is normally the day that I fed them. Also, with the current group, we have some picky eaters that would rather eat McDonald’s chicken nuggets and fries rather than what this old man cooks. :)

Apparently, they’re gonna have an estate sale, next Thursday through Saturday, to sale off the interior stuff/ decor items. Don’t think that includes the kitchen/ bar equipment, just the stuff off of the walls and ceiling.

Their last day serving is Wednesday, 18, 2026. Been going there since they opened their doors and although not as often, now days, we would still hit it up when in that part of town. Hate to see it. :(
