So their plan is to fix past racist practices with racist practices today. I guess their next big idea will be segregation.

I agree with a lot that has been mentioned. Fulmer's staff from late 90's departing, good hires by other SEC programs, Fulmer losing his fastball etc. But Lane leaving after 1 year, in mid January, really hurt. He had put a little bit of spark in the fan base and program. It was like 20 days before signing day, before there was an early signing day. Too late in the recruiting calendar to do a extensive search. That led to a panic hire of Dooley, which put the downward spiral into high speed.

A former ole miss assistant has publicly stated that happened with his recruitment.

Aren't both of his parents ex military, and dad a doctor? Wasn't he accepted to Stanford with like a 4.3 GPA? I'm not saying UGA isn't paying recruits, but Dean and his family don't seem like the type that would be taking money under the table.
UGA released a statement supporting Reese's transfer when he posted his letter about "toxic environment" at UGA. We even went as far as to say would release our full response to his request for transfer if he'd sign a waiver allowing us to do so. I find it highly unlikely we're digging on heels in, holding up his transfer. Wouldn't play well in GA HS or in recruiting in general.
Kirby was going to take the SC job until UGA opened up, or at least Sexton let UGAs brass think he was going to take SC job. It would be interesting to see what that would have looked like.
I can't believe Ken Griffey Jr. has only been mentioned once in this thread. Bonds would have been chasing him if it wasn't for all his injuries after he left Seattle.
UGAs defense will be extremely talented, experienced and deep. If the Offense can be above-average, we'll be extremely hard to beat, because not many teams will put up more than 17-21 points.

UT BARELY escapes with Ws against Vandy and Kentucky to close out the year, limping. If either of those games are Ls, a surging UGA plays are very injury plagued LSU in the SECCG. Things could have turned out a lot differently for LSU and Miles, Richt and UGA. Another instance in a long line of UGA coming up just short.

Working OT next week. Customers need materials. We haven't figured out how to cut and fabricate remotely yet.

Between this and the 150,000,000 Americans killed by guns, we're all going to die
Memphis has more Fortune 1000 companies HQ-ed there than all of east TN (also has just 1 shy of LA, MS and AL combined). That doesn't include St. Jude and ALSAC. There's plenty of economic opportunity, low cost of living, no state income tax, a competent mayor and city council (for a change), good food, and an NBA team...But there are some neighborhoods (that you never have to go to) with po black folks. The horror!
Can't risk fans at basketball games, but feces and needles on every sidewalk and park bench are acceptable. Great job San Francisco

Would be a good hire, but Norvell already knows how to recruit Memphis so I think he'd be the better choice.

He'd be the better choice for Ole Miss, but he's not going to choose Ole Miss. Its FSU or return for him this year. Only thing that changes that is Lincoln Riley or Rhule leaving for the pros.
That Ole Miss booster must have burned the picture he had that shows Norvell with all the coke and hookers.
quote:

He got a serious look from TN, Ole Miss, and Arkansas last go round; and all three found skeletons that caused them to immediately back off. There is an argument to be made that he's a helluva coach, and that he's kept whatever it is pretty well under wraps; and you could argue that all three schools would be in a better on field situation had they hired him. But there are definitely some skeletons there that were found by these 3 schools the last go round.

He didn't get a serious look from UT. Turned down Ole Miss (which is the origin of his "skeletons"). Arkansas picked the wrong candidate.
Clearly the OP doesn't know about Norvell's Scarface-like cocaine habbit, and the fact he's knocked up half the Pom Squad. He makes Kiffin look like a choir boy.
Ah the Coaching Changes board...where everyone knows someone who's heard something from an Ole Miss booster about Mike Norvell's coke, stripper and gambling ways.
Elementary/JR high football is no more dangerous than any other sport. 10 year olds don't generate enough power the cause any damage. Statistically, your daughter is way more likely to sustain a serious injury (knee, back, neck, head) doing gymnastics, tumbling or cheer leading than your son playing football.

If we're looking at strictly football, it has to be UT. Based on their tradition, expectations resources etc. They've underachieved and/or disappointed greatly since the turn of the century. Its started with 2001 SEC Championship game. The entire 2005 season. The end of Fulmer... Then the coaching carousel and the dumper fires that have ensued. What was the last fun, overachieving year for UT? Lane's 1 year? Maybe 2016. Its been rough.

Vandy doesn't have any expectations, but they've had program highs under Franklin, and Mason has gone bowling. Ole Miss and Arkansas have gone to Sugar and Cotton Bowls. State was ranked #1.
I hope he is eligible so Andrew Thomas and Isiah Wilson can treat him like a rag doll.
The best franchise in the league this century is the San Antonio Spurs. Toronto just won the championship. OKC has been a contender since they've been in existence for the most part. Portland, Denver, Milwaukee and Utah are serious contenders this year. Memphis went to the playoffs 7 straight years. You have to be smarter as a small market franchise versus glamor market franchises. Draft well, excel in player development etc, but it can be done.

Golden State was a franchise in no-mans-land a decade ago. Then they drafted Curry, Klay and Draymond.

Its not like UCF isn't playing legit P5 schools every year because they don't want to. P5 schools don't want to play them. They can't just pick up the phone and call Bama or UGA, or OU or USC or Michigan and "make it happen"

Gambling is the word in Memphis. The group that hired him, largely of FedEx and Nike brass, were aware, but weren't scared enough to bring him to Memphis... 30 miles from casinos. From all indications, he's been a model citizen, and he is a very engaging guy. Apparently, get got over his head in his early days at Arizona State.

Terrible roster management, poor OL recruiting, bad staff decisions, and complacency all did Richt in. All of those lead to not winning big games, but his W-L record against Saban is not th reason he was fired.

I don't get the ND hate this year. Their win against Michigan is as good or better than anything Bama, Clemson or UGA have on their resume. Syracuse and Stanford were decent wins. Its not ND's fault that Florida State, USC and Va. Tech were all garbage. I think they'd lose to Bama, Clemson, or UGA, but they ran the table, so they're in
