re: Exuma June Recommendations

We went in February, and had a great time besides being a little cooler than I would have liked. We rented a boat one day just to explore a bit. Had a great lunch at Baymahni.

I sent this to my wife who has been a successful real estate agent for 14 years. This was her reply:
After 14 years in this industry, this is one of those tough and frustrating) realities of real estate.
Buying and selling real estate always comes with some level of risk, and unfortunately, sometimes that risk shows up financially…like inspections, repairs, or improvements made in good faith to keep a deal together.
In most cases, unless there was a specific contractual agreement stating the buyer would reimburse those repair costs if they terminated, those expenses fall on the seller.
Terminating over “foundation issues” without documented support would make me dig more as a listing agent.
It’s extremely rare for an agent to intentionally kill a deal without a reason. We don’t get paid unless it closes. So there’s likely some missing details somewhere like inspection notes, lender concerns, buyer getting nervous or finding another property they like better.

Build large shop buildings. Not sure what the demand is in your area, but the rent on these is at a premium where I’m at. Our tenants run businesses out of ours like a tint shop and a cabinet maker, etc. very low maintenance as compared to our house rentals. Just a thought…
Just got mine yesterday!
Overseeding Chicory
Posted by mach316 on 3/31/26 at 8:38 am
I have a 3 acre plot that was planted in chicory last fall. It came up well, but not as thick as I would like. I have overseeded clover, but not chicory. Interested to see if y'all have tried to overseeding chicory, and what were the results? I was gonna spray Arrest this week before seeding. Thanks.

Been throwing a Coike for the last month or so. Lots of followers, no commits.
If you are looking to get out, MSTR will most likely see a counter trend rally into spring, but will prob fade into summer, and eventually bottom in Q4. This is based on previous 4 year cycles. JMO.
BTC does this every 4 years just like clockwork. HODL.

Tohatsu makes great tillers. Super dependable, and usually are a little cheaper.
Headed to Caney later this month. Will be slinging a glide quite a bit, Got a 9.2 last spring on Caney. Hopefully can get a DD this spring.
I've heard the original KGB's are definitely better. Not a big fan of the colors of the Spro Kgb's except for bone. I just had a guy custom paint me a 9" Hinko Shad (Hinkle knockoff) and it looks fantastic. CustomBaitShop Ready to see if it swims as good as it looks.
Curious what setup are you using as far as rod, reel, line, etc. I started out with a cheap 13 Fishing broom stick, and I wasn't a fan. I've switched over to a Megabass Levante, and like it much better. i paired it with a 200 Tranx and using 20-25lb mono.

I bought 2 Hangovers right when they came out but had trouble getting them to run right. Mag Drafts seem to run better right out of the package. I will admit though, I haven't fished swimbaits near as much as glides. I have a few Savage Shines, and they look really good and I have caught fish on em. For the price, It's hard to beat em. I think the 6" ones are the ones I've caught fish on, but if I'm using the 6" sizes, I'm usually using the Spro KGB. It takes some getting used to fishing with these, but I can remember my first glide fish was on a Shine on Fork. I was "hooked" after that.
I've caught fish on glides all year except prob late summer when I don't really fish that much. In winter I'll usually do a count down to get em deeper or attach grenade weights to em to speed up the process. There are times when they will come off the bottom just to look at it and meet my bait halfway. I do get a lot of followers, but sometimes they will blast it aggressively. Supposedly the glides are better than the choppers when its cold, but i just always seem to have a chopper tied on. I'm trying to throw the big swimbaits more for the bottom dwellers. Just haven't committed myself to it. I did order a Battle Shad 9" last week, but that thing holds a 12/0 beast hook which i had to order as well. In spring and summer, the choppers are fantastic around wood, grass and especially docks. Just have to careful about breaking ur bait trying to sling it under one. Berkley just came out with the Chop Block in big sized that hopefully will be good around docks. I got the 8 and 10' one but haven't tried em yet. Milliken has a good video explaing glides.

I have the Bull Wake. I haven't thrown it much, but it looks and runs good. I like the chopper style baits like the KGB as opposed to the glide style. I do like the 6th Sense Draw though.
Big Glides and Big Swimbaits
Posted by mach316 on 2/2/26 at 12:08 pm
Anybody here like to throw big baits for bass? Over the last several years, I have become addicted to throwing these big glide and swimbaits in the 7-10" range. It's definitely not action packed lobbing these big things around, but when you do get bit, it's a bigun. The bad part about it is these baits can get pretty pricey, and a dagger to the heart when you lose one.
I would like to hear from others about what they like to throw, setups they use, etc. Would also like to hear how much money ya'll may have forked over for a particular bait, and places you buy from. I'm almost ashamed of the money I've spent on this technique.

I use Garmin, but if I already had Lowrance on board, I wouldn’t spend the extra money to add Garmin. I don’t see Wheeler or Connell having trouble catching fish vs the Garmin users.

It changed the way I fish completely. I used to believe fish would be super inactive in the cold, but FFS has proved that wrong. Those roamers you see are super aggressive. Even the fish you don’t see on FFS come rushing off the bottom out of nowhere to take advantage of an easy meal. Just watching them push bait around is pretty amazing to watch. Winter has become my favorite time to fish for sure.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. Bass can be super aggressive in cold water. Jerkbaits, crankbaits, chatter baits and RatLTraps can be deadly in temps down to the low 40’s. A-rigs, big swim baits, and glides are also deadly in the cold.
Scoping was pretty hot starting out but most of the weigh was caught on rat L traps and chatter baits. It was a fun watch today imo.

Wife and I are headed there next month for the first time. Any certain activities, restaurants, excursions we need to consider? Thanks!
