You lot would probably be back singing blue moon and baring your asses in unison in League 2 if not for your middle eastern oil dinars. But hey I don't begrudge you lot anything. Thank god the damn sheiks decided against buying Everton in 2008. The bitters would've been insufferable.

And thanks. I usually don't include citeh when I say mancs. Just don't come around salt bae'ing on my Coutinho shaped wounds.
Bruh if we were truly worried about morality of decisions and being even handed we'd have joined the clergy. If you haven't noticed we're footy fans here. There's no logic to emotions. You'd have known that if you'd been an actual footie fan but you're citeh so you've probably just known about football for the last 5 years. So take your sanctimonious BS and go worship your middle-eastern overlords.

Rant over.
This is all Barca's doing: Barca tried to use LFC's CL qualification "Achilles heel" in their favour. An unsettling atmosphere was sold as one way out for Coutinho.

They did the same with Veratti and Dembele. They actually asked Dembele to quit training and throw a hissy fit. I fricking hope those thundercunts get stuffed by Real and they get fricked out of every competition they are in.
And this is why I've never ordered a jersey with a player's name on it and I have a closet full of red jerseys now. Promised myself won't get attached to a player when Torres left.

However, remember even Stevie put in a TR. If we don't sell nothing has changed. Also, this is why I really wanted us to have a good transfer window. Add top players to the squad. It will make other players want to stick around and win. Life of an LFC fan. ARGHH!!!
My feelings, almost, exactly. I just want this window to go well and us to get back on the perch and I hope FSG are ready to do what is needed.
I dunno what to make of it Rubble. Before today, every single Rangnick quote has said that Keita is essential to Leipzig and he hasn't even mentioned leaving. This is the first time he's accepted planning for a season without Keita.
Now BILD comes out with this: Ralph #Rangnick is planning without Naby #Keita ???? next summer. He admitted that it will be difficult to keep him. (Bild) #RBLeipzig

First time Rangnick has climbed down from his position. How am I supposed to get any work done. HOW?
Yeah saw Joyce saying 90mn bid made, 4 mins later Bascombe comes out with "Rejected". I need this window to end ASAP. The F5 on my damn keyboard is wearing out now.
You know people. 90% of them are mingebags that don't know their arse from a hole in the ground. Which is why I hate most of them.

I just don't want any outgoings and want the spine of the team strengthened this summer. Then I want us to Hulk smash this season and show the bitch arse pretenders their place in line.
Don't get me wrong I don't agree with the "greedy bastards" trope. FSG have been sensible and I agree with most if not all of what they've done since taking over.

I'm merely concerned that we may lose the impetus that we have gained in the last year and a half. Clubs like Southampton talking as if Liverpool wasn't an echelon above them was not possible when I started watching the reds and we need to get back to that perch. The only way to that is to do whatever it takes to add some heavyweights to our squad and push the performance envelope to remedy the damage the brand has taken in the last decade. The rules of the game have changed and if we wanna play with the big boys we need to act like them or else the giant fan base will wither and the investment made by FSG will lose value.
The word on the street is that Keita might be back on in the next couple of weeks.

I usually stay away from the standard LFC doom and gloom that we have gotten so familiar with as a fanbase in the recent past. However, I cannot help but rant given how it seems the transfer window is fizzling out. What the team needs is some serious investment at the top end and a few years of constantly performing at a high level. Overspend if you have to. The owners must realize that regardless of the current state of things the brand has suffered immensely in the last decade of serious underperformance. This is not Germany, Spain or France where you can spend sparingly and build a quality team that challenges and finishes at or close to the top and slowly claws back the brand equity. If they want to retain the value of their investment they need to invest in the team and by extension in the brand. All that said, if we were to bag VVD and Keita before the end of the window I'd be elated and this rant would be pointless.

If we are unable to add to the team this summer I hope to god that Klopp pulls a rabbit out of the hat, we finish in the top 4 and at least have a good run in the UCL. Otherwise we will go back to being unable to attract the right players and the impetus picked up in the last couple of years will be lost.

TL:DR: Need investment in players. Otherwise we are in a bit of a pickle.
Nah man. Coutinho aint leavin. Not for 85mn anyway. FSG will have hell to pay for if they let one core player in the team leave. This is the long game. They're gonna have to play it right or go home.
Not buying the reports from Spain. If there was anything in it we'd have heard at least something from the Liverpool journos. But then again we haven't heard a denial from them either. frick Barca the pricks.

Update from Sky:
Barcelona think Coutinho would be willing to join them if deal can be done amicably. No change in LFC position: Not for sale & happy at LFC

That is contrary to all the crap being fed by the spanish press. This seems to insinuate Coutinho would not be adverse to agreeing a deal with Barca if Liverpool agree to sell. Which Klopp has clearly said we are not.
Every single one of them Coutinho rumors is from a Barca mouthpiece. It's standard Barca MO really. I fooking hate them (just a tiny little bit less than the mancs). With their standard "Barca DNA" BS. They've already tried this shite with Bellerin and Veratti this window. I hope we actually string em along and then shut the fricking window on their face.

On Keita, I still dunno. The Red Bull owner (Mateschitz) is a proper narcissist and Rangnick is well known in Germany to be a hard man with the charm of a boiled potato. So we shall see.
I saw the Daily Fail saying Juve have moved on to Matuidi because Can is staying.

Now I'm seeing Cadena SER saying Coutinho has agreed terms with Barca. I want to believe it is all horseshite but nothing's been the same since I saw Torres leave.

What I'm trying to say here is motherfricking buy Keita and van Dijk and close the fricking window before I lose my shite.
Yes. But the last Bild article about Keita quoted the last bid (2nd bid) at 66 mn. Also, the Guinean journalists that have been there or thereabouts through this saga say that Keita's agent flew to Austria today for discussions with RB. RB are headquartered in Austria.
Ben Smith is not with the Beeb any more. He was super reliable back in the day when he was the Merseyside hack from the beeb. Now he runs his on Virtual Reality company. I'd say he's far removed from the daily happenings at the club. I wouldn't put too much into what he says. He's probably just speculating based on banter with this mates who are probably still at the club.
It's all getting meaningless really. If we did get some unforeseen amount and went out to try and replace Coutinho whatever player we try to replace him with will have an insane "adjusted" price tag put on him by the selling club. The footie transfers market has gone nuts. There has to be a correction in the medium term.

Not much different than when we blocked Suarez's move to Arsenal...

Not really.
1. Arsenal is a direct rival. Neither Southampton nor Leipzig are.
2. According to reports Arsenal bid £40 mn + £1. A ridiculously low amount for one of the 5 best players in the world at that time. We are ready to make VvD the most expensive defender transfer ever and Keita the most expensive African footballer ever. According to reports we are ready to spunk £120 - 130 mn on the two of them.
5 years back I'd say every player has their price. Now I don't know anymore.

These uber rich prestige projects are out of control. There are only very few clubs top level clubs still run like clubs. The market has gone insane.

Naby Keita

This quote is from last summer. False alarm dude.
quote:

55M release clause that kicks in next summer

Ralf Rangnick, their DoF, has denied the existence of a release clause altogether. A lot of people in Germany flat out hate Rangnick.

Interesting side note. Rangnick and Klopp have been said to have a love-hate sorta relationship. They competed against each other in 2.Bundesliga and have respect for each other. On the other hand the german media sees them as opposites because Klopp is very articulate and Rangnick has the swagger of a wet towel. To make things even more interesting Klopp was "considered" for the Leipzig manager position when he left BvB. But he turned them down and joined Liverpool. So I dunno if there is any repercussions of that.
£70 mn for a MF with one year's worth of experience in a top league and RBL are refusing to sell. £70 fricking mn!! Why have a fricking transfer window if clubs get their panties in a wad over doing business? The European transfer market has gotten ridiculous in the last few years. You're only seeing small fishes moving. No major transfers except at massive markups to the uber rich clubs. frick em, I hope we meet those mfers in the UCL and twat the living daylight out of them.

There was a time when Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Romario, Zidane et.al moved from one club to another without clubs getting all pissy about it. As long as they're not going to a direct rival and you're getting paid a fair amount.

It's all a direct result of multi-billionaire owners dumping insane money into the market. Clubs are no longer clubs. They are personal prestige projects.
Exchange Netherlands and England and I'd agree with most of that. Netherlands should not be in the top pile, especially given their current form.

England doesn't get enough credit with most fans outside Europe. This probably has more to do with a romantic notion of footie being a joy to watch that is a pretty recent idea and coincided with the expansion of footie in the "cable TV" years. Until recently this was a very "Un-european" concept (Dutch and Danish teams in the 70s and 80s being exceptions). Spain failed magnificently at major tournaments until the late 2000s. England have never been super fancy as far as I remember. They've always performed well in qualifiers but their big tournament mentality has let them down.
On a different note - DByrd you in Palmdale? Never noticed until now. We're in Long Beach. Thinking about moving north. Can't stand this part of town anymore. Drove through your town on our way to Mammoth a month or so ago.
Mbappe doesn't know what he wants. Kid is like 18. I didn't know what I wanted to do when I was 18. I still don't know.

But long story short. It seems we are serious. Let's let Klopp have a chat with the kid and see if he can convince him. Madrid might be too soon for him yet.

Hopefully the Keita news is true and Leipzig budge.
frick all that. There are reports of us having approached Monaco for permission to talk to Mbappe. No fricking way. I'd lose my mind, get the liverbird tattooed an appendage if that happened.
Both Dave Maddock and John Cross reporting we have approached Arsenal regarding Ox. It's happening. Cross is good with Arsenal news and Maddock isn't bad with Liverpool.
We're probably getting Oxlade-Chamberlain this year. He thinks he wants to play MF. But will probably be a utility player all over the park.
Yeah. frick it all. Let's build that damn team. Build that spine that will not buckle. Klopp has walked away from deals before because he thought they were overvalued (Texiera and Draxler). If him and "Super-nerd" Edwards are ready to sign off on it.

And don't forget Mbappe. Lol! (tongue firmly in cheek)
