The politics in the region are pretty wild. I only have surface level knowledge.
There are so many factions fighting for power. I think the way it started was Afghanis would send their kids to Pakistan for religious studies (like how in middle age European families sent one off to a monastary). The translation of Taliban is what the Pashtuns call "students".
US Dollars flooded through Pakistan during the Soviet-Afghan wars and the Pakistan ISI (CIA) siphoned funds off and created the Taliban. Pakistan feels like they have some ownership over Afghanistan and the Taliban were their creation to cause chaos for the at the time Soviet Aligned Communist Afghanistan. That backfired and now they are dealing with the mess they created.

Taliban are a constant source of terrorism within Pakistan. The Taliban group Pakistan supported durign GWOT (Kandahari faction) isnt the current Taliban govt. The current guys (Haqqani faction IIRC) are very anti-Pakistan. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is a huge source of tension.
Rural uneducated Pashtuns in Pakistan support the Taliban still and many make life difficult for the Paki govt. Pashtuns are the largest ethnic group in Afghanistan for reference.

If there is actual life from another planet, it would probably be some microscopic shite that came on an astroid millions of years ago and we cant prove its origin with what we know of the earth. That would be my guess.

I dont know anything but for some math--if it's lets say $5k a CDL and a modest 10 students a month, that $600k a yr. If they're not even training the drivers, the overhead is probably pretty low.
