This team, like most, can be frustrating. They are not consistently playing at an elite level, but… they can play at an elite level and they damn sure are not Fool’s Gold…

What I’ve been saying the last couple pages

It’s the rarara Dawgs that don’t understand who we are as a program and why. They want multiple wins in the tournament, but don’t know what that means as even a 7 seed

I think you are the only one who thinks people on here don’t understand how the NCAA tournament works. No one ever says at the beginning of the season that their goal for UGA basketball is a Natty or final 4. It is the NCAA tournament. UGA basketball history’s good seasons were the ones that they made it to the tourney with a possible exception. One of their all time best seasons was when they were an 8 seed and beat #1 and were a miracle shot from an NBA player away from going to the final 4. Some teams get hot and beat teams they have no business beating. Not very often, but often enough that one of their primary themes of the tournament is the Cinderella story of the year.
The 1 seeds win most of the time. 8 is the lowest seed to win the tournament. Yet, we watch it.
Teams with lesser overall talent, but good team dynamics have made runs in the tourney, thats why it is fun to watch.

Low impulse control cave men think my argument is condoning the behavior.

Are you saying I am not the only one surprised you are missing the point? If so, I guess that is personal growth you can reflect upon.

Yes. Blame the roads and the cops, not the drivers.

You typically seem intelligent, but this is really what you are getting from this?

You still don’t get it. There is a perceived culture issue at UGA because our players get arrested more than they do in most programs. It was at the top of the complaints of Richt and used as a proof source as to why he could not win a Natty. Now, we have won a Natty and have arguably one of the most disciplined coaches in NCAA Football…yet, we still have players getting arrested for speeding and self checkout violations at Walmart. So, one can take the simple way and agree that UGA is an outlier in team discipline or you can ask yourself if there are other reasons beyond Mike Ridge losing control of the program.

Some people don’t have the IQ to understand that the environment in the Athens area, including police, the local govts and roads contribute to these stops occurring, arrests being made and arrests being reported. They also can’t understand that explaining why it happens in Athens and not the other SEC and large program towns, is not in any way condoning it. They are simple people.

Does the local govt in Athens like UGA football players ….like say the local govt in Tuscaloosa?

And are y’all gonna tell me Kirby Smart is less disciplined than the rest of the SEC coaches?

But why does it seem to happen on or near the Loop or 316 a lot more than Tuscaloosa? Are Bama players driving their fast cars the speed limit? Are they getting pulled over and getting tickets but not arrested?

I literally do not personally know anyone who has been arrested for speeding or expired license or expired tag or expired insurance. I know a number of people who were pulled over for that, including me. I got a ticket or a warning. I was not arrested. What would this narrative sound like if these guys all got pulled over, written up, and not arrested ?

How many speeding tickets did the Indiana team get? Who knows, because it is not news unless they get arrested.

It’s like a Pitbull. You know it will eventually maul your kid, that doesn’t make it right. It’s what they do. Expecting them to not maul a kid is dumb.
Did he go to Berry College?

On a side note, what sandwich at Rocky’s was named after an Atlanta Radio personality ?

That doesn't answer the question of "should?".

Should is more of an opinion. they ‘should’ be treated like any other citizen. What happens in the world is, in some places, they get favorable treatment and in others they, and especially the car types they seem to be driving these days, get more attention from police.
Especially now, you have young kids getting very fast and powerful cars. The kids know they are targets and know they need all their papers in order and know they should not speed…yet they do. You can say they need to be smarter and you are right.

Should football players get favoritism?

In a lot of cases they get favoritism and when it comes to many local police departments in College towns they do, but they damn sure do not in Athens. In fact, it is the opposite.
