Duke, NC, Virginia and Wake Forest wanted us to grovel. Finally, we got an offer from the best conference in the United States.

I must admit that Clemson, NC State and Maryland wanted us back. But we had no intent to grovel. I love the SEC and always have since Bear started whipping those Yankee schools regularly.

I am so sorry. Twenty years in newspaper journalism taught how devastating tornadoes can be. This tragedy transcends sports. Thoughts and prayers for the affected people in Lee County, their families and friends.
