re: Housing market is in shambles

My assessment and property taxes went down for this year, for the first time I can recall. Not moving anytime soon so I'll take it.

Maybe she will end up with the same gig as Marc Morial and become the President of the Urban League, or Teedy might even have a cabinet post in the next Democrat Administration if ever one rises to power.

In her arrogance, I think she really thought national Democrats would take care of her. Can't see that happening now. If she does not go to jail, she'll be living off her govt pension.

LOL. Happy to see Teedy gone and hope she goes to jail but don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.. C. Ray is still the only modern NOLA mayor who has gone to prison.

I also used my dad’s ring. Not there yet, but a decent chance my son goes to the same high school and if so I’d love to give him that ring. But have the same fear he would lose it.

My advice. Put it away for safe keeping after ring dance.
I used my Dad's HS ring. It was beautiful and much nicer than the one I could buy. Was not interested in college ring and did not have the money. My son went to the same HS. I gave him my Dad's ring. He lost it 2 weeks later. Not sure I'll ever forgive him.
I want my stock holdings up 20% in 2 years, so will be satisfied with 5-10% this year.

Will get kid #3 graduated from expensive college and redirect those funds to paying down some persistent HELOC debt.

Start saving in wife's 457(b) in addition to maxing out both our 401ks.
We love ours. It is built into the pool. We pull a TV out there and will watch sports or movies. We often have dinner in the hot tub with cheese, meats and other finger food.

My wife and I thought the same after going there Dec 17-21. The weekdays were fine. We could barley get down the street Friday and Saturday. But we were staying a half block from Times Sq. Other places in the city were OK.
I wanted a treehouse.

I asked for a treehouse.

I did not get a treehouse.

I am 57, so that may have factored into it.

re: Last Minute CLE Check In

I made a concerted effort to finish up a few weeks ago. I hate seven hours in those last chance seminars. Only good thing is I see a lot of other lawyer friends there.
Our segment from Heathrow to Zurich was cancelled. We were considering another BA flight out of LCY, but getting from Heathrow to LCY even with four hours gave us pause. We ended up booking another BA flight from Heathrow to Basil, which will work for us. And yes, BA allowed us to rebook.

Appreciate all the help!

Whole Foods and Dorignac's are the best. Dorignac's has some 7th Tap, which is excellent. Also some good Spindletap releases that my BIL in Houston often does not even see there.
Destination is EU. Thanks. Sounds like train is the way to go, unless we end up not taking the LCY flight to avoid an airport transfer.
British Air cancelled our connecting fight out of Heathrow for a trip we have planned in a few months, and the best substitute flight option is out of London City Airport. We have a four hour layover. No checked bags. There are three of us.

It looks like we could take a train with a few connections, or we can hire a car or Uber. Train is cheaper but not worried about the money and would rather relax in a car than navigating the train. My primary concern is making the connection.

Anyone have experience with this transfer? If hiring a car is best, would you schedule one ahead of time or just catch an Uber when arrive?
Some Catholic schools will offer discounts when you have four kids. Does not hurt to ask.
People are living longer, working longer, getting married and having kids later. Is it any wonder they divorce later too? A lot of 60 yr olds will have 25-30 more years to be miserable with their spouses.
If no one comes to my table and acknowledges my presence within 5 minutes, I am out of there. I am not asking for much, just a menu and some water. Then I can be patient.

Usually December is slow. Not this year...sigh.
This sounds like an awesome part-time retirement gig.
