Both Texas and State will be in the final four and probably meet again in the semifinal. Most mock brackets have Texas 1 and State 4.

It may not take 8 games. Our schedule is brutal. We open at home with a winnable game against ULM, but that road game at Minnesota that people have chalked as a win is a sure loss. Minnesota went 7-0 at home last year in the B1G.
at South Carolina and at home against Missouri are probable losses, then we get four definite losses in a row.
I think we should fire Lebby the week that we drop below .500, which will probably be Week 3 but no later than Week 5.
I have zero hope for a successful season.

Ole Miss wins the Kiffin Bowl by 3 TDs but loses the next week in the Swamp. Ole Miss fights for another playoff spot but loses a late game at Oklahoma to fall short.
Jeff Lebby is fired midseason after State starts 1-7. Arnett is named interim coach and State wins three straight (Vanderbilt, Auburn and Tennessee Tech) and gives Ole Miss a game to finish 4-8. State makes a surprisingly good hire.

The reason that no one talks about the Pearl, Mississippi High School shooting in 1997 is that an assistant principal retrieved a gun from his vehicle and stopped the shooting at 2 dead by holding it to the shooter's head.
This quote from the principal always stuck with me:
Myrick approached the killer and confronted him. "Here was this monster killing kids in my school, and the minute I put a gun to his head he was a kid again," Myrick said.

I just learned that the Chicago WNBA team is the Sky and the Atlanta WNBA team is the Dream. I already knew that Indiana was the Fever because of Caitlin Clark.

I have some very controversial opinions about women's sports in general, having two daughters who grew up playing high level club and high school sports and both taking low D1/D2 recruiting trips before ultimately deciding to pass on playing college sports.
Most women's sports should be club level and colleges should not be mandated to have them. Also, there are a lot of predators involved in women's sports - both hetero and LGBT.

Dawn Staley is the highest paid WBB coach in the land at $4M/yr.
If her contract was instead $0, South Carolina women's basketball would still be operating at a net deficit.
This is not sustainable. But its funny that South Carolina has destroyed its men's basketball, baseball and football programs (all had great success in the 2010s) to win some women's basketball games.
