Yeah these are two really good portal gets, but still haven't addressed the real problem of a top tier 5.
Yeah give be a 4/5 combo that is NOT in love with the 3 point line and I'll take it.
Brazile was a good player for us, inconsistent, but good.... but I won't miss holding my breath every time he jacked up a 3.
Solid get, Still need a true 5 that can be a force of nature.

The amount of melting over this is fricking hilarious. How many times is this going to be posted?

Maybe time to realize you hired a spoiled pre-teen as a head coach :pimp:
I mean... can't teach 7-1.... if he can develop a little maybe he could steal a few minutes... Looked rail thin this year... got to find some serious weight room time.

geez, that's even worse!!!!
I would guess right now KJ Jackson would be our guy,
Coaches seem to be hyping AJ HIll though.

I think both are decent but not sure if either is our long term option at the position. Anxious to see them in the spring game facing some somewhat live bullets. That said, we probably still won't know what we have until game 1.

I will say this about KJ.... it felt like against Missouri last year that all of our momentum died when BP decided to go with Green after starting KJ and we had just scored. The team seemed to rally around him. I think they were done with Green.
KJ seems to have leadership qualities that you like at the position at least. Time will tell if he's good enough to be a difference maker.
That guard spot is probably more important than we realize right now. I think we are going to see JSJ at the 2 quite a bit and JJ and Toure splitting time at the 3. If Billy is back you may see either quite a bit of a small lineup or that may force JSJ to play the 1 more. Either way, whether it's a depth piece or a true PG, we will need toughness and possibly some 3 pt shooting there.

proof no one has a clue about next year. Heard yesterday that something like 30% of the college basketball rosters in America are currently in the portal.....
So dumb!
I heard on a podcast that we were looking at the PG from Colorado (Johnson?) and it looked promising.... don't know a lot about him other than he's smallish at 6-1 but a good 3 pt shooter as far as percentage. Led them in scoring I think.

Arkansas’ last three coaches were Bret Bielema, Chad Morris, and Sam Pittman.

They had a combined record of 65-86 overall, 25-72 in SEC play.

During those 13 seasons, Arkansas went 0-8 in conference play 4 times, including last season. Each coach had at least one 0-8 season.

In 11 of those seasons the SEC had divisions. Arkansas finished dead last in the west 6 times. In the two years without divisions they have finished dead last once - last season.

Last season they lost by 43 points, at home, to Notre Dame. Arkansas fans were booing Arkansas before halftime.

During the last 13 years, Arkansas has finished ranked in the top 25 just once, finishing 21st in 2021.

Arkansas football is cooked.

And yet we still consume your thoughts on a random Wednesday morning.
Read some Bible bro... it'll help with all those random feelings of hate towards other SEC schools.....
I think even if Thomas stays you still need another true PG with the team we have. JSJ can play off the ball and I see JJ and Toure as GF combo types. Leek kinda a true 2 also so unless you want JSJ to be the primary ball handler I think you need to sign another PG now that DJ is gone.

That said.... it doesn't matter much if we can't upgrade the front court.
sure would like to see at least one portal piece announced today :violin:

I haven’t watched much lately but my guess would be front shoulder flying open, pulling everything and rolling over cause he isn’t staying connected. We’ve had several guys the past 6-7 years who couldn’t/ wouldn’t correct this.

Almost like that's a hitting coach issue, huh?
By golly we can study the analytics though... just can't correct a giant hole in swing mechanics.
off topic but same general theme... anyone ever seen Robinette NOT pull a ball?
different but same..... :rotflmao:

I agree. I would think we could pay Billy in NIL what his rookie salary would be and give him a year to up his draft stock.

and all that is not factoring in the guys we never saw off the bench last year... maybe some development there adds a guy to the rotation like Semedo or Rtail or the other big.

I know that roster is a bit of a pipe dream but if you want to build a champion you have to have physical dawgs at guard, a shooter, and long bigs that can bang in the post.

That roster would address a lot of those issues if not all of them.

so as of right now at 7:51 am here is what I would love to see:

Guard:
JSJ
Andrews
Leek
Toure (G/F)
Would love to see Billy Goat come back also.
(I don't have confidence we get Leek and Billy both back but that would be awesome)
Assuming we lose both we would need at least one veteran guard and a G/F type as well to split some time with Toure....

F/C:
Ewin
Cyril
Bydunga
Tiller, Watts, De'Ante Green, Dawes ( any combo of this bunch)

of course Tyran Stokes would be a nice shock to the system but it looks like Kansas for him which could explain the exodus of Kansas bigs.

Just hoping we don't lose to another instate school today.
I second the smoker tube. I use it on my pellet grill to get more smoke when I'm doing a slow cook.
