It's a true shame. That girl on the left is actually quite a pretty young lady.

Pat Summit started it, Dawn Staley brought it back, and there have been a series of giants in between who maintained it.
Mulkey, Koenning, et al have done their part to build quality programs, to where there isn't a truly, bulletproof, juggernaut in the conference anymore. They're all pretty good.

Monster Trucks is one of the most fun movies to watch with kids under the age of 10. It really is a solid action flick, funny, and has a clever plot device.
Not a masterpiece, but it's a good rainy afternoon, for sure.

You're leaving out First Class, why?
Good catch. Total oversight. First Class was rock-solid, even if I thought the handling of Emma Frost was decidedly off. January Jones is a capable actress, and Emma Frost is an awesome character. Wish they had given her more to do.
Biggest mistake the franchise made was thinking that people cared about Mystique. She's an OK character, but the studio was giddy about having Jennifer Lawrence under contract, and used her to the stories' detriment.

Days of Future Past is probably the best X-men movie
I would agree with this.
Apocalypse was shite. Wasted both Apocalypse *and* Psylocke. And no one even saw Dark Phoenix.
For a series that has as many fantastic stories as XMen, it's a shame we've only gotten a handful of decent movies. X1, X2, The Wolverine, Logan, and DOFP are the only ones worth watching.

On paper, Ryan Leaf was potentially better than Peyton Manning.
This is an impressively retarded take.
Barnes has been developing DEs at a consistently high level at PSU for several years. It's not like this is a shot in the dark. No, he's not bringing the ghost of Abdul Carter with him. But to act as if he doesn't have a solid resume (which is literally a piece of paper) and could potentially be an upgrade to a coach SC liked and respected is stupid.
The fact that SC had a plan in place so quickly after Lucas left leads me to believe that this was planned and in the cards for quite some time. Again, great hire for SC. Great hire for LSU. But this being tRant, of course the narrative is that SC is salty.

I remember the remake mostly for the last minute switch of the villains from China to North Korea because the movie studio was afraid to piss off the Chinese.
They did the same thing with the Xbox game Homefront. Didn't make any sense for that, either.
As for the Red Dawn remake, that had a lot more potential if the Wolverines were fighting against an oppressive/despotic US Gov. Would have been a more interesting story, for sure.
re: When is Dylan Stewart announcing plans to transfer to LSU?

ESPN reporting Stewart is getting $3-4 million to play next year. That’s a big chunk of SC’s budget.
SC insiders are saying Stewart and Sellers combined is less than what Miami offered Sellers, which is believed to be around 4 million.
Who knows what's true. We don't even know what SC's budget is, to be honest. Gun to my head, I'd say it's around 15 mill.
Stewart is from DMV, so SC is significantly closer to his home than Baton Rouge. He's only got one year left, so it's not particularly surprising that he stayed. He's a helluva competitor, and he makes his other bookend better by being on the field.
One thing is for sure: in the era of NIL and revenue share, these deals need more transparency. I've got no problem with the idea of a transfer portal, but I'd think it makes more sense to have one "free" transfer, and then any other transfer requires a redshirt year. The constant moving around isn't good for anybody except the agents.

Coster-Waldauj or whatever looks significantly more like the character I remember from the game. He's a much better actor, too. His performance in Shot Caller is one of the more haunting I've seen in the last 10 years.
I cannot figure out the desire to put Pascal in literally everything.

Don’t be like Ole Miss fans and act like the coach you lost isn’t that great. You sound as petty as Ole Miss fans do about Kiffin.
This simply isn't true. SC fans have, unanimously, admitted that Lucas is a big loss. He was an excellent DE coach - although I don't know how he'll handle the entire DL. That wasn't in the cards for him at SC.
Now, we can admit that Lucas is a big loss, but also say that Barnes is one helluva replacement - and on paper, could *potentially* be an upgrade. It doesn't make us salty.
I wish Lucas well. Can't fault a guy for leaving for a legit promotion- as i think he'll be your entire DLine coach. I can also be excited about Barnes. It's not mutually exclusive.

Him and Seth Rogan, two of the worst actors today!!. Total clowns that only play clown roles!.
Hill has better range than you're giving him credit for. Moneyball and Wolf are both excellent roles that he nails, despite having nothing in common.
Rogen is atrocious and only have one speed: degenerate stoner. I can't stand him, even if I occasionally like a movie that he's in.

Really surprised to see The Abyss not get more love in this thread.
It's my favorite of his flicks. You actually think this is made at the bottom of the ocean. The depth, the stress, the tension, and the effects are all top-flight. It doesn't stick the landing as well as it could have, but there are dozens of scenes that are absolutely perfect with their editing and tightness. The scene where Ed Harris drowns in the pink liquid, it's amazing. I remember being convinced that this was real tech when I first saw it.
T2 and Titanic are both iconic for obvious reasons. But The Abyss is his best work.

So he was highly sought after, and chose LSU
Supposedly, his defection didn't come as a surprise to DC Clayton White. It was pretty well known he was moving on at the end of the year inside the Ops building.
Again, not taking away from him as a coach. Kyle Kennard raved about him, and Stewart had a great relationship with him.
I am curious - is he supposed to be in charge of the entire DL at LSU, or just the Edges?

If it's Lucas, does he have experience with the interior?
I don't know if he has interior experience, but that was not his role, at all, at SC. Tackles were coached by former Tulane DL coach (and Gamecock) Travian Robertson, who missed most of the season. He was in an *awful* car accident at the beginning of the season. He has recovered well, however.
quote:
And they were mad that the DL is going with him.
Who's going with him?
Lucas coaches the edges, not the interior - thats a different position group and a different coach. If you're suggesting Stewart is also leaving, it's possible, but no one in the SC boards seems to think so.
Lucas is a good coach. Hate to see him leave. But I don't expect a mass defection to follow him.
Kids wanted to watch it, so we rented it. Always had a thing for Judy Greer and Lauren Graham, so I was all in.
Absolutely fantastic Christmas movie. Definitely shed a tear. It's a rock-solid addition to the rotation.

SC and AU have a way of making great coaches look shitty. As another example see current Broyles award finalist mike bobo.
Bobo was fine as OC for the one year in SC. He produced a 1000 yard rusher.
But he wasn't much of anything at Auburn, either.
Muschamp is an arse, but his defenses at SC were never any good, really. He had NFL talent that he largely squandered - guys that are very successful in the League. Clayton White has been a much better coordinator than Muschamp/Robinson.
I don't hate Muschamp. Never should have been hired, but I don't hate him. I just think he's overrated.

Rudeist/ most dickish : John Elway
Knew a kid who grew up in Denver when Elway's Broncos were really getting going. Everyone in town spoke about him as an absolute a-hole. Buddy ran into him fairly often, and had nothing kind to say.
Went to HS with Jeff Bostic's daughter (OL for the Redskins and Clemson). Never met him, but while she was a hottie, she was a frigging Turd.

I think McDaniel likely knows that Tua is cooked. Guy needs to retire before he loses all sense of who he even is.

I met him once, as well, back in '99 when he was known as the best player in the world. As you described. Genuinely likeable guy, super humble, and fricking huge. He's a massive human being, just in terms of sheer natural strength.
Had a friend who was neighbors with Dominik Hasek, and she said he was very nice, albeit a little aloof. But hey, goalies, man.

Met Dominique once, and agreed, he was very pleasant. Couldn't blend in to save his life, though.
Met Scott Mellanby once (former Captain of the Florida Panthers and Atlanta Thrashers). Beyond humble and easy to be around. Also looked like he was strong as a mule, and not the kind of guy you'd ever want on your bad side.
Also met Verne Lundquist in a press box one time. He's short on TV, but he's almost unnervingly small in real life. Legit built like Gimli.
