Harriet Tubperson, thank you very much.

Better than Tubgirl, I suppose.

That said, it seems the series did decline after V.

VI ended up being a pretty damn great game by the time all was said and done...it just took 4 years a couple hundred dollars in expansions to get to that point. 2020 CIV VI vs 2016 Civ VI are night and day.

Releasing a half-baked game and slowly making it playable has been the M.O. of the series over the last couple of releases, unfortunately, and it really bit them on the arse with VII. It'll be interesting to see how (or if) they recover. The ages mechanic was such a dumb idea to implement in the base gameplay and probably ultimately cost a lot of people their jobs.

I really like the espionage, alliances, and statecraft stuff

I'd probably recommend Civ VI + Rise & Fall expansion.

Civ VII is slowly improving, but the things you pointed out are some of the weakest aspects of it right now, IMO.
I'm hoping he has a Caleb Cali redemption arc because he's an automatic out right now.
Don't forget about folks with blue checkmarks stealing and recycling the same viral Tweets every month or two so they can get their $5 royalty check.

The quality on X is not great right now, but I read that they're supposed to add a feature that will allow you to filter your feed by the country of origin. I think that'll help clean up a lot of the slop. It's going to be a tough day for Sanjay when he wakes up and finds that his profile of an AI generated woman is not longer getting "wow, beautiful!" comments from 50 year old divorced dudes going through a mid-life crisis.

We needs some men down low. This is great and all but we are going to be in the same spot as this year.

Seems to me that Cal likes freshman guards and portal bigs. So I'm not going to sweat that too much until the portal opens.

Last year was the year. Their all world SS threw it to 3B.

Eh, we would have just found a way to blow the 2nd game anyway.

From reading the offseason discourse, this team seems to me to have a higher ceiling and lower floor than last year's team. We brought in some guys that have 1st/2nd round potential (Maika Niu and TJ Pompey), but they still have to take the next step. We also have a couple of true freshmen (Turner and Brumbaugh) that could be in the lineup on opening day...so there are more "unknowns" this year, IMO.

This seems like a good place to drop the yearly reminder about how to get a reduced price FloSports plan. They've bumped it from $15 to $20/month this year, unfortunately.

Call me old fashioned, but I think I'll abstain from making child rape a punch line. But y'all do your thing.

Why do you rape small children?

The correlation bwtween people who believe this and people who were sexually assaulted by a family member when they are small child is near 1.

Just a typical Friday afternoon on the OT.

I figure Philon at Bama would be his main competition if the season ended right now.

Are you trying to tell me it's not a good idea to get my news from accounts on Twitter that have blue checkmarks, cite zero sources, and stand to directly benefit monetarily from creating controversy online?

Ryan Hall, Y'all on youtube is my go-to for major weather patterns. Dude doesn't miss.

Nothing like cracking a beer and following a tornado outbreak on a Ryan Hall live stream

I could do without his alarmist Youtube thumbnails and whatnot, but that comes with the territory these days.

Indiana isn't even in the top 10 in nil

I'm not saying Indiana is in the top 10 but, FWIW, I would take anything NIL-related that is sourced from On3 with a huge grain of salt. They run an algorithm that estimates how much they think the roster is worth, they don't have the actual numbers.

They're a bunch of clickbait artists that have been called out multiple times when it comes to the NIL stuff.
