Why would it be limited to just drunk driving? If the principle behind it is that you took someone's life and now you have to pay for their responsibilities, it should apply across the board to any killing that is not justified.

And why just child support? If you cause an accident on the interstate and I miss my flight, you should reimburse me. Let's do that law.

One of those words is inaccurate.

Sadly, no matter how successful you are, whitey will never accept you as an equal.

It's honestly not your fault. You've been raised and nurtured to believe that the white man does everything to keep you under thumb make sure you continue to feel inferior.

It's hard to think critically and challenge these notions when to do so, you would have to recognize and admit that the narrative you've been sold your entire life was a complete lie.

Maybe for the Tract homes, but where I live in Baldwin county with an hvac co and a home design company, we’ve never been busier with new home construction.

I'm not talking about tract homes. I'm talking about high-end custom builds in south Louisiana. I recognize things may be different in Alabama since there is no announced ice operation happening there. But there is one happening here and roundups at construction sites are happening daily in New Orleans.

Residential construction issues

I'm hearing that residential construction is basically shutting down for a bit in Nola/BR due to the ICE sweeps with workers hiding. Anyone seeing this?

Prince St. is good stuff - should easily become the best in BR

I'm sure it will be great for a year before it closes. BR does not have the disposable income density to support $40 pizzas. It's not enough that a bunch of us will eat there and love it. Places like this need population density to survive. BR doesn't have it.

Totally fair. Like I said, it's a big number.

This is the correct answer if you really want to enjoy the park. If it's just you or you and one other, it's totally worth it to pay 600 bucks and not have to think about anything other than where you want to get your next drink and where you want to go next knowing that there will be no wait for you.

If you have a big family, it's a big number. So I understand not getting it if you are visiting with a family of five.

But I enjoy nice things. And I'm willing to pay to have a great day.

When I went last month, we walked in whenever we wanted, grabbed a coffee, walked leisurely around the park, and waited in no lines. As I walked past hours and hours of lines, I could not help but think in my head that it was the best $600 we had ever spent.

Must really be great recruiting like it’s said.

Stop while you're behind. you are getting dragged in this thread by people who understand football.

Oh I get it now. In your world, you either need someone who makes 10mm and competes for national championships at his current school or someone who worked for Saban. Nothing else. Got it. Makes sense. You should be AD

I guess Georgia screwed the pooch when it hired Kirby Smart...

It would be a massively underwhelming hire. One playoff appearance in the washed out little 12, and an unranked current team does not qualify you for the job at LSU.

You clearly don't understand hiring football coaches. A guy who does way more than he should be doing at a particular institution is exactly the sort of coach who is ready to step up in weight class. Dillingham, Matt Campbell, etc. They are great coaches. It's the model that got you Nick Saban and Les Miles and 2 national championships.

Knox to Uhigh is real with him enrolling after Thanksgiving break as an NIL offer was presented to the family that wasn't match from a competing high school in the Baton Rouge area.

this doesn't make sense. High schools are not funding NIL deals. There is nothing to match. An NIL deal is an NIL deal and has nothing to do with what high school someone attends.

Legal THC going away

Posted by Ex-Popcorn on 11/10/25 at 9:14 am
Posted this on politics board but bringing here, too.

The supposed "clean" continuing resolution to reopen the government slipped in a provision closing the THC/hemp loophole from the 2018 Farm Bill

Lots of small businesses about to get destroyed.

Supposed "clean" CR

Posted by Ex-Popcorn on 11/10/25 at 9:08 am
Has anyone figured out yet that they slipped in a provision to close the 2018 Farm Bill loophole re: THC that will destroy billions of dollars of small businesses?
Kentucky/LSU basketball 1994. Kentucky down at the PMAC by 31 points in the second half.
There is no SNAP program. There was a SNAP program in fiscal year 2025 because Congress acted and appropriated funds for the program. But we are in fiscal year 2026 and the Dems won't allow for funding of the program. Thus, no appropriation. No program.
quote:

There has been no CR passed so there is no longer a SNAP program. Therefore no funds can be sent out

This is 100% the correct take. We are in FY 2026 now...there is no appropriation for SNAP. It does not exist until Congress appropriates money for such a program.
