Staying around Disney and looking for a place for wife and I to go watch the Baseball game tonight. Recommendations are very much appreciated!
Proud of Louisiana and Baton Rouge's Leaders
Posted by ngulin123 on 7/25/16 at 2:48 pm
While watching the last of our three murdered officers funerals, I just wanted to express how proud I am of our local leaders. They have handled themselves with a dignity, respect, and honor that makes me proud to call Baton Rouge, LA my home.
While I might not agree with Gov. Edwards politics, he has shown to be a leader in some of the toughest times for our city. I thought his words today at Officer Jackson's funeral were fantastic and very appropriate.
Has any official showed the raw emotion of BRPD Police Chief Carl Dabadie Jr.? You can tell his words are real and the love that he has for his officers is amazing!
The picture of Sheriff Sid Gautreaux kneeling with his hand on Deputy Garafola's hearse is touching and like Chief Dabadie, he shows true leadership, and someone i'm sure officers love working for.
Proud of our State and City over the last few days!

For sure. We usually boat to Bahia Honda, but I believe you can rent kayaks here as well and paddle around the Key. If you can bring a raft to float on and some sort of rope/anchor, walk out about 100 yards or more and float.
Thanks for the info! Will prob rent a Jeep to go here so i can load down with a ice chest and floats!

Thank You for all the info!
After all the reviews i have read, i am going to go ahead and plan a day to make the trip to Fort Jefferson!
I just tried online and cant get a table before 9:15 for any of my 6 nights.... Would you recommend just going and having a few cocktails at the bar around sunset?
We are staying at Ocean Key and it has a sunset pier that is supposed to have great sunsets, but this Lattitude place looks like something we would enjoy too.
How is it at Half Shell?
I was planning on doing this and catching the No Name Pub on the way back. Have you been to this place or heard good things about it? Is this drive to far to take scooters?

I'd recommend Lattitudes on Sunset Key for your last night, get there about 30 mins before sunset, the view is absolutely incredible and the food is very good. I'd book now because it can be tough to get a reservation if you plan on going.

Conch Shack on Duval. Get the Cracked Conch(Konk) with the pink and green sauce and ask Dave to tell you about the guy getting his picture taken with a tranny. Best Cracked Conch on the island IMO, and I've eaten a lot.

If you have a free day, I'd drive up to Bahia Honda State Park. By far the most beautiful beach in the keys.

Wife and I are going next week for our anniversary, and both of us have never been. Any suggestions would be great for things that are must do, nightlife, and most importantly places and dishes that are must eat!

Three timeouts left to end the game

Why would you not call a couple timeouts with UNC on the 6 and your best player hydrating on the sideline?? The D really looked to have the "want" for a break.

We thought it would be like all you can eat crawfish, where they bring it out on a tray.
No he didnt fix shite, at 8:30 he told us he would get us more shrimp, and I told him I would go to Taco Bell on the way home.....He also had a smirk on his face the whole time. It was aweful.

One of the worst dining experiences of my life! Seven of us arrived at about 6:30 and ordered beer and everyone order the special for dinner. We received our first plate at about 7:15, and there were no more that 15 shrimp on the plate per person. We asked that since it took so long to get this order, if you could go ahead tell the cook that we will at least be getting two or three more servings. The waitress told us that they will not start cooking the shrimp until we are done with the first plate! As far as the shrimp go, they were not fresh shrimp and they didnt even have the heads on them. The waitress informed us that the owner was very cheap and he wanted to "wait people out" on delivering the shrimp plates. We finally received our second order at about 8:00, and my plate had exactly 8 shrimp on it, and they wouldn't even give us another potato. The owner had the nerve to walk over and ask us if we got enough to eat. We informed him that this was not an "All you can eat" but an "All you can Wait" Special.
That was my first and last time to ever eat there!
