Ole Miss, it's the system, not LSU or LSU

First, I get the part that you don't like LSU in the first place and believe me, we know the feeling of a beloved coach leaving for somewhere else and ending up with a hated rival.
But this transfer portal NIL hot mess has a lot of programs in the same boat. No doubt LSU will be on the short end of the stick in due time. I'm not gloating.

He won't have Lane Kiffin to kick around anymore. I didn't root against Ole Miss, and in fact wished them well, but I am relieved that they lost. now maybe the circus can end. It's great that the Ole Miss fans love Pete Golding, but it was insufferable the way the media was deifying him like he's the best thing since sliced bread. And now the Kiffin hating can start settling down. It was an awful bore. how can you blame someone for switching jobs if they believe it's in their best interest?

anyone have a current list of our roster concerning o linemen?
Posted by stephendomalley on 1/7/26 at 10:44 am
not freaking out, just wondering what the current up to date status is?
i know Braelin Moore is back as well as Tyree Adams(?), but i don't see the recruiting list listed on this site and I can't remember how many are coming in and who in the new class.
I figure good olinemen, who are as scarce as hen's teeth, will be working to get their best deals so they are not likely to be early signees, so I am going to wait patiently. I do know we need some.

pretty good bet to give him one more year at alabama. he should've had his agent working on penn state and michigan. Pride goeth before the fall.
re: The harsh reality has finally set in for alabama

it's set in for everyone. you can't stockpile all the talent anymore. no more dynasties. you will be able to compete every now and again.
today, what would you project alabama's record next year?
Posted by stephendomalley on 1/2/26 at 9:15 am
9-3?
that was a great football game!
Posted by stephendomalley on 1/1/26 at 11:22 pm
Congrats, Ole Miss. I don't know what happened to Kirbo's offensive coaching staff. they were dominating in the first half with their running game and then they made halftime adjustments to change their game plan.
Both teams made a lot of great plays. just a great game.

Damn, alabama, ya'll had a better team and season than we did
Posted by stephendomalley on 1/1/26 at 11:19 pm
but that was a terribly embarrassing loss! I don't remember when I saw an alabama team that demoralized and quitting.
i couldn't really enjoy the fact that you were losing because I felt so bad for you. It was really a butt-thumping!

i have nothing against alabama except i'm tired of them winning so much. it was great to see miami beat Ohio State for the same reason.
not gonna ruin my day to see alabama win, but i'd rather indiana advance.
for the record, i expect alabama to win.

when they abandoned the run he started getting more comfortable and confident throwing. showed he's not afraid to run. was inconsistent in badly missing some throws. but he could be a decent, good qb imo.

man, that's not a bad thing at all taken in context. he was emotional. Geez!
re: I think expectations need to be tempered for next year

8-4 or 9-3 is my take.
i'm as glad to get rid of this offensive coaching staff as I was
Posted by stephendomalley on 12/27/25 at 11:58 pm
when Les Miles and crew left town.
the good news is that the kelly era is over. that was kelly football out there.
Posted by stephendomalley on 12/27/25 at 11:54 pm
we got dominated on both lines of scrimmage. most disappointing aspect of the game to me. not a surprise by the OL, but looked like we were even worse than before. Defense, heck, we were missing to many starters. these guys hadn't played together.
we had houston's 4th td stopped except our rusher didn't lift his hands up to keep the qb from throwing.
and i want to give the O staff credit for finally realizing we couldn't run the ball and adjusting. I think Van Buren got a little excited and kept going for the long ball instead of just completing passes. Understandable. he looked decent enough.
i think we'll win 9 games next year, but the very least I know is that lsu football will be more fun to watch.

re: I feel if we signed Lagway… We would continue to “LAG WAY” behind in the SEC standings.
Posted by stephendomalley on 12/26/25 at 7:12 am to tigertracts
you have to fear that lagway has been mentally destroyed, and that is hard to come back from. Plus, although he has good athletic skills, he's not a runner, which is imperative in today's college football scene.

yes
re: I haven't seen anyone comment on what I think was the play that turned the game in Norman.
Posted by stephendomalley on 12/22/25 at 8:27 pm to Doak Walker
i said it, too. it was 3rd down and critical that they hold onto the ball. Still, i gave him credit for the good throw.
i really think the downfall started with the stupid late hit resulting in a 15 yard penalty and Alabama continues for their first score.
