So you’re saying if I wanted to take out $100 at the bank for Diablo, I would have to get nothing but $2 bills to tip the girls on stage? Do they actually turn away $1 bills? I’m just a bit confused on how that works.

My buddy just read this thread and said, "Although Agave won't do anything or return my messages in the end, I'm glad we have some people who have decided not to go to their restaurants ever again."
He also plans to reach out to the local news, and hope there's enough information for a story. I really would love to stick it to these guys for being such pricks.

Considered taking my story to Yelp but that won't do any good. 1 bad review isn't going to hurt them. Plus they have only 31 reviews at their E Vermilion location with an average 2.5 stars. Guess that's saying something, huh?

Just frustrating. Now they will have 12 less customers (and I know that really won't hurt them with the thousands upon thousands of people that visit them annually)
Reimbursment for the tow won't happen. But at least issue an apology and state that the restaurant was in the wrong. Guess they must have too much pride....

He says the tags are issued by off-duty police officers employed by Dibenedetto Security, who is contracted by the landlord of Agave Mexican Restaurant. They tag the cars when the driver leaves the parking lot to go to the parades rather than the restaurant.
I apologize on what I wrote earlier. I misunderstood what he was saying about the tags. These tags were applied to cars who were meant to be rightfully towed.
What he's telling me is that after this fiasco, Agave is now distributing tags to their customers to mark them as paying customers and prevent towing. But before this week, that was clearly not the case. If you received a tag on your car, you were screwed.

Unlawful Towing at Agave Restaurant - Lafayette
Posted by Costas & Mimosas on 2/12/16 at 7:08 pm
On January 30th, over Mardi Gras weekend in Lafayette, my buddy had his car towed at Agave Mexican Grill and Cantina. He paid $218 to get his car back from the towing company. So far, this sounds like nothing new to people who have had their car towed once or twice before.
However, he and 11 of his friends went to Agave that night, had dinner and drinks, paid their bill and exited the building....only to find that his legally parked car was towed. It wasn't just his car though. Four other vehicles were towed as well.
He tried to get in touch with the towing company, and they redirected him to Agave. Agave tells him that it is not their fault and stake no claim in this case. Soon after, the Lafayette Police Department visited the restaurant.
In a nutshell, it's not about the money. We all chipped in $20/each and called it a day. He felt the need to reach out to Agave Management based on principle. He wanted someone to take responsibility for these actions, and instead, they walked away from the situation completely. An email was sent out on Sunday morning to Agave Management, as it was their parking lot and negligence in properly providing these "car tags" upon arrival. And for 5 days....no response. Just want to know if you've been screwed over like this before at a restaurant. TIA
And yeah I know....TL:DR, but whatever.

re: Best Caribbean Island To Visit In December
Posted by Costas & Mimosas on 2/9/16 at 8:53 am to Costas & Mimosas
As of right now, there is one other couple who wants to join us in December. We were both set on Aruba but I'm just exploring my options. Once again, it doesn't HAVE to be at a Marriott property. I'm just saying that I have like 400K points and it would be nice to have some extra cash to use on excursions, food/drinks, and entertainment.
I'm open to all suggestions. I love to scuba dive, so steer me in the direction of beautiful reefs and aqua life. I'm at that age where I'm not looking for a "club" nightlife. I'd rather see myself at a bar at night with good friends and have some nice beach cocktails. The four of us are more into adventure and sports than getting wasted every day.

How did you like St. Kitts and Nevis? We're going there at the beginning of June for 8 days. As you know, there is a Marriott on St. Kitts.
I really enjoyed my time there. I went two years ago in January (when Louisiana had that hard freeze) so it was a perfect time to get away. I won a trip with my company and we took the Star Clipper Cruise to a few islands, including St. Kitts & Nevis. We toured around the city but found ourselves towards the early afternoon at Reggae Beach Bar. It was about a 30-45 minute drive from the center of the city. But the food and beer were pretty cheap, and it was more of a local hot spot. The water was pretty clear, but not some of the most blue waters I've seen compared to other islands. However, I'd still recommend visiting. Nothing bad to say about it.
Best Caribbean Island To Visit In December
Posted by Costas & Mimosas on 2/9/16 at 1:05 am
I was planning on going to Aruba for NYE this year. Yes, I understand that's an expensive time to go to anywhere in the Caribbean but I'm using Marriott Rewards points to book my stay. Preferably I would like to stay at a Marriott resort, but if there are better hotels on better islands, I am open to the idea of just paying for it.
I've been to Grand Cayman, St. Marteen, Antigua, St. Barts, and St. Kitts and Nevis. Grand Cayman and St. Marteen were my two favorite, but I want to visit somewhere new.
Any advice would be appreciated. TIA!

I'm guessing the turn around will be quick this year. They'll notify you but you'll select within a few short days after the email.
Gotta stay on top of my emails this year I suppose

Someone told me to add lsu.nation on Snapchat and it's nothing but students getting messed up on drugs with the occasional boobie pics. I didn't realize so many kids did drugs when I went to LSU. Guess I lived a sheltered life or something...

Depending on many variables such as sales goals, territory growth, positioning new products into the marketplace, yadada....It could range from a big ol' goose egg to 65K before taxes. No one ever hits the full 65K, but I see a decent bit of people walk away with 25-30K every year.

You know I heard about something similar where you can get a charter with strippers (maybe hookers, but they say strippers) and they fish with you naked. Think that be pretty cool or sketchy as hell?

Let me state that it was neither the bachelor or bachelorette's idea for a joint party. It was ACTUALLY one of the bridesmaids. She approached me with the idea, I ran it by the bachelor, and his exact words were "Screw that shite, let's go the complete opposite way from them."

About half the group is already married, with some having a kid. We aren't really looking to rage like the college days, but we still would like to toss back some beers and shots. We would rather have a fishing charter and other activities then to spend our money at a strip club.

The girls suggested a joint bachelor-bachelorette party. But we decided against it. Women can be difficult, especially on big trips. Hence why I'm single, and my buddy is taking the plunge
Bachelor Party Destinations

Need to figure out some destinations. It's a group of guys in their mid-to-late 20's. The bachelor wants to have it planned for March 2015.
So far, we ruled out Vegas (only because most of us have been for other bachelor parties), and we don't want to do a cruise.
I suggested Chicago or Boston for St. Paddy's, and a few have mentioned Cancun/Playa del Carmen. Any other suggestions? What are some pros about the place you like? TIA
