Yes - poor Dan Lanning and his roster limitations.
Acting like Dan Lanning is a tier up from DeBoer is hysterical stuff.

DeBoer lived off of Chris Peterson recruits
DeBoer has signed 2 elite recruiting classes while at Alabama. Our roster is fantastic moving forward.

That Washington team DeBoer had would have inexplicable games and constantly lived on the edge.
And yet beat Oregon (and others) when it mattered. Won a championship. Got the national title game.
Having the recent history of Oregon under Lanning and talking about "trust" in big games with another guy (who has as good a track record in big games as just about anyone in the country outside of Kirby) is funny stuff.

I'm trying to remember a time when I saw significant rain at the Rose Bowl. I really can't think of any.
Hasn't happened since 1955 (70 years). It rained lightly during the 1st quarter of the Ohio State/Utah game I believe they said.
The last significant rain during the Rose Parade was 2006.........but it didn't rain during the game because that was the year of the USC/Texas game and (as we know from our Texas game) the BCS Title Game version of the Rose Bowl was not on New Years Day (January 4th).

Then yea we trust the guy who is 7-2 (3-1 Bama) vs Top 10 teams and 20-5 (8-3 Bama) vs ranked teams in his career in a big game.

Yea, Ohio State is a top 3 program in the sport over the last 15 years (and all-time). They had an elite team last season.

That's actually impressive to send 17 teams and finish with an 11-6 record.
Shows how strong they are from top to bottom.
It really doesn't mean shite outside of playoff games. The teams aren't the same teams that played the regular season.
This is the same as acting like the skeleton squad teams NFL teams with #1 seeds locked up put on the field in Week 18 matter at all. They aren't the same team as the one who played the first 16 games.
Not to mention the B1G has 2-4 bowls each year where they play G5 teams (so far this year Boise, CMU and New Mexico) whereas the SEC has none.

He’s definitely struggling to figure out the right minutes for guys. No bad answers really, and it’ll be very positive once we get deep in conference play to have a bunch of depth and options.

I think the plot twist here is that Hartline isn't a very good coach or a particularly good recruiter, he just coached for a school that massively out-talents almost everyone it plays and that has absolutely mastered targeted recruiting spending.
Ohio State's WR recruiting rate AND their hit rate with guys in the NFL are both pretty damn high. Think Hartline was both a phenomenal recruiter and a very good receiver coach.
McLaurin, Olave, Smith-Njigba, Harrison Jr, Jermiah Smith, Tate, Egbuka.
That's a hell of a NFL roster of WRs to pump out in a 7 year span.

Yale is a real unknown. Supposed to be pretty good, but it's schedule has been complete dogshit before today.
They've been pretty consistently meh against a terrible schedule so far.
+3 vs #58 Akron
-9 vs #118 Rhode Island
+37 vs #137 Quinnipiac
+3 vs #191 Vermont
+14 vs #195 UIC
+9 vs #199 Charleston
They shoot it very well but don't guard at all.
I'd be pretty surprised if this one didn't go something like........
Alabama 27 - Yale 18 (10 min)
Alabama 49 - Yale 34 (half)
Alabama 77 - Yale 60 (10 min 2H)
Alabama 105 - Yale 87 (end)
We'll play solid defense for a half then do the thing where we just trade baskets for the entire 2nd half and piss Nate (and myself) off to no end.
