re: Gonna be real funny when LSU signs that 5*+ OL from Colorado.

That kid wants a ton of money, Not sure we are going to meet his numbers or get into the money war with other teams.

Yes must be a national issue. Down in SC as well.
re: NIL Athletes vs. Student Athletes - which would you rather watch? Thought experiment

Naturally I think most people long for the old ways. Kids played for the Name on the front not the name on the back. Sadly I think those days are gone.
I was really rooting for Clemson to keep it as close to the old ways, but they failed.Dabo just does not know they failed, yet.
There is a since of excitement every year about college football. This next year will not be any different. But in general I miss the old ways. I would much rather see the local kids playing for the local college that they dreamed about playing for their entire life. It just seemed to mean more.
The one thing that I think is truly funny is the amount of fans that claim to be done with it. They will be back. they will be following, talking trash, and following every pod cast.
I think two things can be true, we miss the good old days, but excited about the future.

Both WR and DB were engaged with each other. Do not get that call much.
Ole Miss Heck of a game
Posted by lionscoach on 1/8/26 at 10:35 pm
From a Tiger fan, OM you played very hard. Great year.
re: Miami is going to toss Ole miss around like a ragdoll
Posted by lionscoach on 1/7/26 at 5:05 pm to Lsu2B
Still hoping Ole Miss wins it all. They are still the SEC. They still throw a lot of hate our way but I still want them to bring home the championship. Good Luck OM. My fellow LSU fans I expect downvotes. It is ok. Lol
re: Straight Talk from Trinidad about his decision to sign with Ole Miss for 2026

Good for him. Would love to have him but he is making a big boy decision. I hope he gets to play another year with OM.
re: LSU fans have been classier lately
Posted by lionscoach on 1/5/26 at 4:23 pm to Landmass
Landmass I truly hope OM wins it all. Very deserving. All the other crazy stuff between our programs has been silly. I understand it, but silly. Our two programs will rise up out of the mud slinging and in the end I think both programs will be fine. Good Luck, take Miami down.
In Lane we trust....
Posted by lionscoach on 1/4/26 at 2:39 pm
We did what it takes to get the most sought after Coach in College football. Lane Kiffin came to the LSU Tigers. We all know Ole Miss fans were holding prayer circles to keep him. It makes sense that they are so butt hurt now.
I know to some that it seems like the wheels are falling off. We have OL folks in the portal, WR's in the portal. It looks bleak, but is it? I say no. I think Lane Kiffin knows exactly what he is doing and has started the process of building a championship team, and it is a process. Some kids have been shown the door, some are just trying to get more money, while others are just trying to figure things out.
I am excited about the transfer portal and the possibilities for this team. I think it will be magical.
The media is in the process of trying to start a College football Civil War between LSU and Ole Miss, maybe between LSU and the rest of college football. The media does what the media does. Heck I have even seen some media outlets quoting things here at TD. We are idiots if we think we know what is going on behind the scenes at LSU.
We wanted Lane Kiffin, we got Lane Kiffin, so we need to trust his process. I think we are building something here that can last for a long time. Even with all the negative comments, negative press, and the Ole MIss fans melting every second of everyday, I am excited about the future of LSU football.

re: Reality of the NOLA area with recruits
Posted by lionscoach on 12/11/25 at 8:41 am to Geauxgurt
Why is this even an issue with folks. Money talks now. Has nothing to do with Frank or anyone else. It may help a little to have the illusion of loyalty to someone, but the $$ sign is the main factor. I do not blame the New Orleans kids going for the money. This is the time we live in. The best recruiting tool that LSU can have is to win games, be relevant in the playoff scenario, and be willing to pay good money.
re: Kelly should have been fired for cause.
Posted by lionscoach on 12/5/25 at 12:05 pm to SteveLSU35
That is the entire issue "if it was the truth." We do not know, we will never know. People here get a grain of information and it becomes fact and they run with it. I agree that he was not a good Coach at LSU. But I am almost positive that if LSU could have fired him without paying him they would have done exactly that. For me that is the most truthful thing. LSU admin and lawyers are snakes when it comes to this stuff, I am sure they tried very hard to find something that would hold up leagally.
re: Frank gets the win on Saturday and the HC position follows.
Posted by lionscoach on 11/6/25 at 10:44 am to Crappieman
Frank can win out and still will not get the job. Past HC jobs will be a factor. Can not take the gamble..with a job like LSU.
re: Why does Trump want the gov’t to re-open?
Posted by lionscoach on 11/3/25 at 3:27 pm to Covingtontiger77
Because there are people that are not getting paid. I have family that is in the military, they are finding money to pay them now, but that is rumored to be drying up. Even if they get back pay some families can not survive missing pay checks. This is an issue. It doesn't help that a certain political party sues every time they find the money to pay our service men and women. The dems are not doing themselves any favors at this point.
re: Any details on Brian Kelly buyout?
Posted by lionscoach on 11/3/25 at 3:17 pm to Redstickbaw
You had a contract pay the man what he is owed. Not his fault that someone gave him this contract. Do what you agreed to do. The so called investigations about "cause" does not help the coaching search. In my opinion.
re: Baker asked Frank for more "realistic looks" in practice and more "game-like simulations"
Posted by lionscoach on 11/3/25 at 3:14 pm to Fun Bunch
It is all good until key players start getting jacked up at practice and missing game reps for some minor issues. There is a reason why you can not go full bore at practice at this stage of the season. Bodies get tired, beat up, Bumps and bruises do not heal like they did at the start. There has to be a happy medium where development and toughness can meet. All of these kids are D1 athletes they know how to tackle, block, catch etc. I am not taking up for Kelly at all. But at some point these highly paid kids need to produce.
Frank Wilson, love the man but....
Posted by lionscoach on 10/29/25 at 6:28 pm
Frank Wilson will not be the next Head Coach at LSU. Good man good, good motivator. His record as a head coach is just one obvious reason they will not take a chance on him. Not sure why so many people have said they wanted this. It will not happen.
re: where’s all the orange??????
Posted by lionscoach on 9/2/25 at 8:24 am to LSUBS88
I live in Clemson and you are correct, the orange shade has been toned down. Some of my pals are mad as heck. Basically think the coaching staff has been full of crap about how talented they are. As always the haters want someone to get fired, lol Typical college football fans. When they beat the heck out of Troy they will be National Championship contenders again. lol
re: What is the chandelier HC on zoids?
Posted by lionscoach on 6/22/25 at 3:15 pm to TutHillTiger
His arms are 3 times the size they were 2 years ago at the catching camp. Just saying he got a lot bigger some how.
re: F Coastal Carolina
Posted by lionscoach on 6/20/25 at 5:24 pm to matty3387
We live in South Carolina. The year after they won the CWS my son went to a catching camp at CCU. Kevin Schnall was the catching coach, One of the best catching coaches in the country. He was pretty colorful and disrespectful about beating LSU that year. Maybe he was just trying to validate the camp. I am not sure. I thought it was pretty arrogant and unprofessional at the time. We did not attend anymore camps with him. The next year they did not even make the tournament. I have met him multiple times at CCU, my daughter cheered for the university, she also dated one of the pitchers, at coaching conventions, etc. He is always arrogant. The comparison I have seen with him and Vitello are spot on. Both arrogant men. But his kids can play the game of baseball.
re: Why do you visit this site?
Posted by lionscoach on 5/18/25 at 1:15 pm to flagshipuniversity
I visit several times a day just to read. It is better than a good novel. It generally has a little bit of everything. My favorite are the melts that occur. The "sky is falling" folks. I honestly see some very informative posts with honest dialogue and feedback. You also get the ones that just make you wounder why some folks exist. lol The ones who got the scoop from a cousin that works at the feed store that loaded up dog food for someone who may or may not have played for a college team at some point. But in general some folks ask honest questions and many give honest opinions. Rarely do I ever get angry at posters but I do laugh a lot while reading posts.

He will leave only if he is looking for something different. Jay Johnson loves the man and has had a professional relationship with him for a long time.
