Former LSU safety Ryan Yaites announced his commitment to Cal on Monday.

The former four-star recruit from Denton, Texas native, played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2023 and recorded 16 tackles. He played 242 snaps (124 defense, 118 special teams).

Cal will be joining the ACC.

Those routine 4-5 hour plane rides are going to suck big time. Especially when they have to head to the east coast and play at the ACC version of Starkvegas in Clemson.

No offense to the guy but this is just another example of how bad our defensive staff was last year at recruiting and developing. I feel like if Yaites was a better player he wouldn't be transferring to Cal.
