LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte announced Wednesday night that he has changed his mind about returning to the team next season and will be declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft.

The news comes just hours after LSU announced that Boutte would not be available for the Citrus Bowl.

Boutte came to LSU as a five-star prospect from New Iberia, La., and had a breakout true freshman season in 2020, catching 45 passes for 735 yards and five touchdowns.

He played in six games last year and caught 38 passes for 509 yards and nine touchdowns before his sophomore season was cut short due to a season-ending injury.

Boutte entered his junior year as one of the top wide receivers prospects in the country but saw his NFL Draft stock dip after catching 48 passes for 538 yards and two touchdowns this past season.

He previously announced on Dec. 5 that he would be returning to the team for his senior season next year, but now he is off the pros. He ends his LSU career with 131 receptions for 1,782 yards and 16 touchdowns.

It's almost like some thought should go into these decisions or it needs to end

Wish him luck. He seemed to be half way in all season, it’s the best decision for everyone that he moves on.

Good riddance...do not let the door hit you in the a$$. The WR is stacked. Sick of his pouting and giving up on routes in several games. See how long and NFL coach puts up with that. GEAUX TIGERS!

We are stacked anyway. Don’t need a drama queen anyway.

This has "Baby Mama" written all over it, too much drama for a dude… I know you'll make more money than NIL, but for how long. Good luck!

How will LSU ever replace all of that offensive production in 2023?

Can’t wait for him to grab that 7th round payday.

They have zero loyalty and their word means absolutely nothing. CFB is becoming ridiculous.

Interesting how immediately after playing with nuss and having his best game (of the year)he decides to stay. Then JD5 decides to stay 1 more year and now he's not so sure. But anyone paying attention could've seen he made the first choice too quick after a hard loss and that eventually he would opt to leave. Good luck tiger, thanks for not going to bama when you had the chance, and yeah he mightve ghosted a couple games but today's youngsters set the bar so low that we have to settle for "at least he isn't ARIK gilbert" idk man it's a different era. Wish him the best maybe he gets to show his true self in NFL Stanley environment

Nabers and BT11 didn’t seem to have trouble getting the ball

Lets pump the brakes on our top WR not having trouble finding the ball. He caught 2 TD's for 2022. JD5 is the problem here.

At least he waited until we lost Bech before changing his mind.

Yeah I’m sure Jaden Daniels was the deal breaker and his “Baby Momma” had nothing to do with it.

Anyone who believes its JD is ignorant. KB would have just waited for JD to announce b4 he would’ve made his descent/announcement.

Seems like he's probably had enough male figures/mentors/coaches in his life that have taught him that you don't act like THIS.

Good move for all parties. His skills had regressed, was a moper with negative energy. This clears the path for guys like Nabers, BTJ, Hilton, Lacy who 100% want to be Tigers.

Best of luck but this is weak sauce. Should have done this before signing day and transfer portal period. Puts us at a disadvantage.

I am relieved. He is talented, but he was a distraction. He moped and seem discontented so often. Let Malik, BTJ, Hilton and Lacy roll.
