LSU offensive lineman DJ Chester is reportedly entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

The redshirt sophomore from Conyers, Ga., was LSU's starting center in 2024 but was more of a rotational lineman this past season, playing in seven games at multiple positions with one start.

Chester is the third LSU offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal, joining Carius Curne and Coen Echols.

Another NIL Heaux

Can you imagine the day when not one player on your beloved tiger team comes from Louisiana.
Yes they are all migrant NIL heauxs from all over the USA with nothing in common with you except for the purple and gold that they wear.

All 3 musta been told they weren’t welcome anymore

HuntinFishin2521 days
Not so much "not welcome" but, a real honest and direct talk with Kiffin.

They could just want more NIL money and return. Ever thought about that?

Crazy how you guys think CLK is going to miraculously get a whole new OL in here by next season. Easier to coach up what you have for depth and you might be able to grab a few in the portal, but losing all these guys is bigger than what most think.

This is absolutely true, it creates an even bigger hole in an already blaring weakness going into 2026. It’s already too late to replace this many holes with anything resembling SEC caliber players.

Did LSU really lose here?

Nope
user avatar
Not at all. Fat, weak, lazy, and completely undisciplined

Is LSU going to have a complete offensive line next year?
user avatar
HuntinFishin2521 days
Complete? You mean all new? Hopefully so and it is trending that way. Yep, Kiffin needed to overhaul the OL more than any other position.

Dude was physically a prototype lineman. He just didn't have the headspace to make it work.

No surprise with the OL players. Why would there be after this season. Have a conversation with the new HC and the coach is honest. No job is secure and the NIL $$$ is out there. It is a new game and Kiffin is one of, if not the best at it. Time to rebuild and rebuild with the best available!!!

Football aside, how about these kids learning to play the game called “Life”. The O-Line coach that recruited them will be gone, if not gone already. Is there a chance these “quitters” could develop under a new O-line coach. That is a possibility. You don’t quit your job, if you get a new boss, in Life. The portal is creating greedy losers that can end up greedy loser in the game of Life.

Or these kids were told there isn't a place for them in the new scheme. Don't assume they wanted to leave. Heck, if I read all the crap people wrote about them, I'd leave too.

HuntinFishin2521 days
Not necessarily quitters in this case. This was an organization in peril and the 'OL Department' was the center of the problem. New CEO comes in and cleans house. Very normal and with NIL to add to the equation, this is not a surprise.

The Transfer Portal will/is destroy the recruiting process for the best of the best players. Its no longer a game of young college players, but a game millionaire athletes.
