I give Lyles a lot of credit for winning what might be the world's most competitive athletic event: the Olympic 100 meter dash. Running is such a fundamental part of athletics that it is nearly impossible for someone with a natural talent for it to go undiscovered. There's probably been many tall, lean athletes who could have been awesome at the 200 m. breaststroke (or whatever) but never even thought about jumping in the pool. But I doubt anyone with the potential to run a 9.80 100 m. grew up without being noticed.

That said, the difficult thing for sprinters like Lyles is no one in the USA cares about sprinting outside of the Olympics unless you break the world record (which I don't think he can even challenge). If Lyles runs 9.75 at some random meet in Berlin next year, no one is going to be watching and no one is going to care. So it's going to be difficult for him to make headlines in the States between Paris and Los Angeles.

Reek is fast, very fast even by NFL standards, but he couldn't beat Noah Lyles in a 100 or 200. He should drop his little X feud before he gets lured into a race.
