This seems like that Hardcore History-esque stuff that I need to learn about.
Operation Ajax and Operation Boot in 1953 where Eisenhower and Churchill worked to overthrow the Iranian government.
Was it oil interests? Was it real concerns over communism?

What a fascinating topic. Iran/Persia is possibly the most intriguing place on earth IMO.
I’d be interested to find a book on this too.

Google
‘Iranian 1953 coup’
And a few come up - I’m on my phone so I couldn’t do a more thorough search
And there’s this article from The Guardian

Yes, I consider it a rag but most of the books listed were the ones that came up when I searched google.
I should’ve put a warning. I don’t like to search worldcat on my phone so I didn’t thoroughly research like usual.

All the Shah's Men is a classic. There is a ton of new material out on the Shah, but I would start with that.

Countercoup: The Struggle for Control of Iran - Kermit Roosevelt
I'm pretty stunned at the price. The free stuff is good too though.
