Government, private sector, etc.. it doesn’t matter.

This may not be what you’re looking for, but I just finished El Narco: The Bloody Rise of Mexican Drug Cartels by Ioan Grillo. Certainly has crime in it.
Read it after listening to the author on an old episode of the JRE. British dude, journalist based in Mexico City, who knows his subject matter. Fascinating, gripping, terrifying stuff.

Congressional transcripts?
I’m down with that. I’m fascinated, even though I shouldn’t be, with how corrupt the Federal government is, and how incestuous it has become with the private sector. Just think all the stuff that’s out there in the open, and, now realize it’s far worse than that with shite they’re hiding.

For anyone in the gulf coast or deep south , I somewhat recently finished reading Mississippi Mud, about the Dixie mafia/ Kirksey nix murdering a judge in biloxi and his wife in the 80s. Many here are probably already familiar, but the judge’s law partner (and elected official) was part of the conspiracy. Crazy shite.

You can't get more corrupt than JFK and the Unspeakable. Read some of the Amazon reviews.
