He's still alive.

Yes. Rick kept* him in a cell, not unlike the one Morgan just built.

He's still alive. Rick decides to lock him up in jail instead of killing. That is why they showed Morgan building the jail on the show.

I've been pissed about it for two weeks now.

How far back is the show right now from the comics?
Posted on 4/3/16 at 10:36 pm to finchmeister08
A decent ways still. The Negan thing has been resolved and a new threat has emerged.

How long do we think the Negan arc (now until his capture after all out war) will last on the show? I'm thinking they will draw it out 1.5-2 seasons. Then 1/2 season for whisperers and the other half will be whatever happens in the comics now with Negan.

Still pretty far. They drew out the All Out War series over two comic book story arcs. So they could draw it out on the show for a couple of seasons if they follow the path of the comics.

Alright so I've cooled down some, and I have to say those final 20 minutes were down right tense. I mean holy shite I was on edge not even thinking about the possibility of a cliffhanger. It was such a good scene and then they ruined it. I'm going to ignore all promos for the next season because I don't want it ruined.
How good the final 20 minutes were just pisses me off even more

Guy who started the regular thread should be banned for spoiling that it was a cliffhanger.

he should.
I staid out of that thread till right before the show started because once he did that I knew it was going to be a shite-show.

This was issue 100 tonight and issue 150 was released recently and has hopefully saved the rut it's been in.
100-126 could be two solid seasons.
126-150 Aside from one major event, could probably be covered in 2-3 episodes. Any more than that and we are heading toward Hershel's farm season 2.0.

I've seen people banned for less in Walking Dead threads.

And at some point the show has to really pick it up before Carl starts to look like Channing Tatum playing a high schooler. That's my guess on why the comics had that 2 year time jump.

Yeah, there's no way that guy didn't know. Especially since TWD really hasn't used cliffhangers all that much in season finales.
Also, I'm ok with Kirkman's explanation on Talking Dead. He said this episode was only a finale in a sense that it's the last one for the season. That's it. Who died isn't really the important take from the episode. It's that Rick's arrogance was intended to be built up only to have it come crashing down in a big way. He said they'll deal with the "who" in season 7. I'm good with that explanation. I know they knew it would cause shite but at least they had a halfway decent excuse in the chamber.

I thought it was 7 years.

Even having read the spoilers, I was drowning in anxiety through that entire last part. Even while "knowing", you can't be sure. Now... I don't think I even much care who died.. Doubt it was anyone on the level of darryl or glenn.
I'm not sure the writers intended for me to be glad I read the spoilers beforehand. I have stayed away from spoilers since season 2 (read the finale spoilers since I had a feeling it was going to be infuriating based on events this season). Might make it a habit with this show now. I'm considerably less upset than those who stayed away from them it seems. At least I was prepared.

And yet I was the a-hole for calling him out. Granted, I probably took it too far, but that was because I was already pissed about the cliffhanger itself, and probably took a little bit of my anger out on him.
But there is no way he didn't know about that spoiler.
