The whole last few episodes were drawn out too long. We meet Jesus, who turns out to be a ninja and then he disappears without anyone questioning where he went to. At minimum Rick would have questioned his whereabouts after he helped kill the Saviors.

This whole Carol storyline is boring and over dramatic. Nobody cares about her or Morgan anymore so why waste half of a finale on them?

I'm pissed and I'll wait till November to catch up so I'm not strung along so slowly.

Jesus lives at the Hilltop. He went back home after the fight. Why is everyone questioning where he is?

I agree with you here. Jesus is a major player in the war against Negan and I was expecting him to have way more screen time this season. He should have a huge role in season 7.

Carol's character has been very aggravating the last 3 or 4 weeks but I think the plan all along was to use them to introduce the Kingdom. Morgan and his homemade jail cell should have some impact on Rick and Negan in the upcoming season.

I am totally on board with that line of thinking until they block off a road with cut down trees (which would have taken lots of work) and used that particular street as the "big reveal" as they hang the guy they showed the group in the first meet-up. I can believe they would know Rick and company would first try to take the quickest possible route, and I can believe they would block off all other routes with men, but I can't believe they had enough time to block that one route with trees and knew Rick and company would be going that way at that point in so they could hang that guy in front of them.

Or maybe the other roadblocks were just funneling them to the roadblock with the trees. It seemed like each time they were stopped that Negan's men were trying to scare them but not trying to harm them... shooting at them but missing on purpose. It was obviously all a trap or they could have taken out the RV at one of the first two stops.

I'm thinking they were re-routing them until they finally ended up at the roadblock with the trees and Negan's men probably know that area better than Rick. They figure that Rick would take the quickest route first, then look for a safer route (remember Eugene talking about a route where they would be less likely to be ambushed?). Once Negan cut off those routes it was only a matter of time before they tried the route which led them to the tree roadblock.

IMO the entire thing was just one big show of force until Negan was ready to grab them. He was just toying with them.

Agreed. Negan was trying to make a power play to show Rick who is boss and to embarrass/make him look like a fool in the process. There's really no telling how long the Saviors have been scouting Alexandria and plotting this. Just one visit to the Hilltop since all this started and the Saviors would know everything there is to know about the Safe Zone's people and area.

All this talk about how terrible the finale was executed actually caused me to tune in to the late night rerun...I literally caught just the ending when the group met Negan...

One more thing, while we are bitching about everything else, lets start saying Negan's name correctly. Nay, not Knee. frick you Kirkman!

I hope next season begins with a replay of the eenie meenie miny mo scene from the finale, except when he swings the bat it's not from the view of whoever he kills so we can see who it is.

The first episode will probably be a flashback to Daryl being shot and show their ordeal up until the lineup.

After watching the talking dead just now, I'm convinced the only reason this was done was to create hype for next season; story reasons be damned. Kirkman basically leads off with it when he is talking about episode 100's of comics and how it's a good place to stop reading. This cliffhanger really makes me angry, but who am I kidding, I'll be watching next season.

Although I do believe I'm closer to bailing if they do pull some shite like this again...

I kind of hope it's a Negan/saviors flashback episode that ends with the last few minutes of last night's episode and also reveal who got lucilled.

Also, I just finished reading through issue 100 last week so my entire interpretation of Negan is based on the knowledge that JDM would be playing him. I thought he killed it. What do you who read the comics beforehand think?

I'd guess this is where it all starts. If not immediately it won't be long in ep 1 to get there.

I'm starting to think the tv series might end after the AOW finishes.

I don't think TW storyline will make for good tv. It hasn't been well received in this thread. Plus the time jump complicates things

2 more seasons, 8 seasons total. A nice run.

I enjoy the series and would watch no matter what, but I'm thinking realistically.

Is this a common thought or am I offbase?

I can get on board with this

ETA: It would be even better if they just did a 360 and let the show do it's own thing completely independent of the comics after AOW

Well I'm not a reader but it always has seemed through the readers that Negan was the most exciting thing TWD had coming. Does the series have anything to offer that is just as compelling? For tv?

Yeah. That's a good idea. I just can't see anything topping AOW so amc might want to end it at the pinnacle.

But if some clever group of writers can create compelling content for after, that would be ideal.

Some savior flashback episodes would be cool. Negans backstory like the governor had

I've seen people banned for less in Walking Dead threads.

I read this and laughed my balls off...

aVatiger was banned in November for posting,"someone should not give that kid a gun... he could shoot someone's eye out", he thought well Douglas isn't going to do it.. So no way they are gonna let Ron shoot his eye out... Wrong. He got the banhammer and has been gone ever since.

He was pissed at first because he thought cark wasn't gonna lose his eye and that the ban was unjust. He said back in February that a month long bsn would've been justified. Now he's been gone almost half a year.

Watch what you say, gents. There is one poster he said really pushed for him to get banned bit be said he'll bring that up when he get's back.

Being a reader, I can't remember looking forward more to a character ever than Negan. That includes all of GoT...

That poster used to be Cocomo. I don't see him post in the show threads anymore, though, but I specifically do not like him because he got people banned for posting things that were absolutely not spoilers. Not sure who it would be now.

Anyway, the Walking Dead comic 153 just came out. Looks like Negan is headed to meet with the Whisperers.
