I follow a method to make sure I get maximum sleep. We put the kids to bed around 8:30 mix some drinks/ pour some wine and dim the lights to get my eyes used to the dark. We'll either hang out and talk or we'll watch an hour of tv plus maybe 1 30 minute show. Then I read in bed for around 20 - 30 minutes with minimal light in the room. Turn on the sound machine and drift off to sleep.

Takes a long time to get through a book that way but if I'm not traveling or on vacation it's all I got.

i love reading and i love my wife (married 4 years now) and will say she wants to spend time with me (not in front of tv) in the evenings now and by the time she's ready for bed i'm too tired to read.

not a bad problem to have; i enjoy her company but i also miss my reading time. (see taking a dump above)

I read a lot as a kid and stopped as I got older. I would buy a book at the airport when I went on a trip but that was about it. About 5 years ago I got an ipad and I have been reading like crazy ever since.

I generally read every night when I go to bed. That's where the ipad has been huge. I stay up later than my wife and the ipad makes it easy to read with no light. I'll usually read an hour before the melatonin kicks in, but it can vary from fifteen minutes up to 3 or 4 hours if I'm not tired or reading a really good book. I go to bed much earlier now than I use to as well. Before I would stay up until midnight or later every night watching TV. Now it's not uncommon to get in bed around 9 and be asleep just after 10 during the week.

I also read during my lunch break. I usually bring my lunch and I'll take an hour to sit at my desk eating and reading. It's a nice break from everything. That gives me most days around 2 hours of reading time. On the weekends sometimes I'll get in bed in the afternoon to read and take a nap.

I also commute from Metairie to Baton Rouge 4 days a week. I mostly either listen to Howard Stern or audiobooks. I've gone through almost all of the Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer books over the last year or so.

I downloaded a program for my Nook on my work computer. Knock out a couple chapters when I have down time.

Audiobook while getting ready in the morning and if it is good..on the way to work and while out walking.

Ebook intermittently before bed, but that usually has its intended effect and makes me sleepy, so I don't get too far.

Whenever possible. I have two kids under 4 years old and I work 50-60 hours a week. I read before work, in the bathroom, before bed, and usually during my babies naps (usually sacrificing a nap myself)

It you love something enough you will find time

I try to knock out some each morning before the rest of the family wakes up. Then once the kids are in bed I'll read 20-30 minutes. If you are consistent about it, you can churn through books pretty quickly.

I went back to using a charcoal grill. One of the benefits is the longer cooking times. I take full advantage every night and bring my book out to the patio with me.

Also, I get up at 4AM every day and I always read for at least 30 minutes. No tv, no phone, no Internet,no distractions.
