Maybe national ratings but I don’t think entirely useless. What it says to me is that against similarly talented competition, these coordinators had dominant defenses. From a talent standpoint, LSU is only out talented by maybe 2 or 3 programs.

Guaranteed this guy went to ESPN.com stats and sorted them by defense and had to look up the names of the DCs to the teams that were listed first.

Yea, there are too many variables. You can’t just hire the best stat guy.

Another football scoop storyline....
I won't believe them anymore after what happened today

Dan Quinn should at least be called.
Eddie just needs to get Nielsen in here (That's who he wants) and be done with it.
Go tell Scott to just GGF with the PC "Minority" hiring prerequisite BS.......

Brad Lambert - Marshall - 3rd in total defense this year - Broyles Award finalist
Kurt Mattix - San Diego State - 4th in total defense this year.
Ilaisa Tuiaki - BYU - 9th in total defense this year.
All ranked ahead of Freeman's defense at Cincy.
Did you watch the Bowl game against UGA? I guess that wasn't impressive enough to you. Why did Orgeron interviewed him for the DC job?

I doubt ryan nielsen comes back to college.
Also, he is preparing for the playoffs. I don't see nielsen stepping back down
His star is on the rise.
We need to grab a good college dc like reeves
Didn't nielsen already turn him down

I said it a few weeks ago and got DVed but I think some of the LSU faithful are starting to accept this reality:
The coaching industry knows O is a dead man walking. Title IX issues, NCAA investigations pending and massive roster and staff upheaval point to a very good chance he's gone this time next year or after '22. No rising star with viable options is going to weigh down his career by wrapping the Orgeron millstone around his neck - especially with O's proclivity to toss them aside either through jealousy (Aranda) or inability to take responsibility like a leader and blame his subordinates.
LSU will either get a past-his-peak retread looking to score one last payday off his name or a young unknown willing to risk jumping aboard the Orgeron ship to elevate their profile.

Ryan Nielsen should be the guy. He is a tremendous coach with huge upside.
