Les is a medicore coach who won most of his games with talent and chavis defense theres plenty of coaches who can come in and do better we are not gonna lose anything only can go up from here

So let us play a game. We wont be getting a coach until after the bowl games unless he currently doesnt have a gig. that leaves 1 month left to recruit. So you can throw this class out the window because while we are searching for a coach, these recruits are going to get snatched up by the other coaches that have been recruiting these guys for years.

Nick saban left december 25th of 2004. We had 8 commitments. Les was hired January 2nd of 2005. We ended up with 13. No LSU does not recruit itself. It will set us back a few years. that 2005 class were the upper classmen of the 08 season. look what happened.

This isnt like Malzahn, who wasnt even gone from Auburn for a full year. His offensive players he recruited and his scheme were still at Auburn when he came back.

What did you say when les was hired??? If you're a pussy and think LSU will crumble bc Les leaves then that's a you problem! LSU will be just fine with out him.

So what makes you guys think we will hire a hot name? I didnt know who the frick Les was. You guys wont like the next hire either, he will either be a big name and get paid more than les and still lose to saban, or he will be a no name still get paid around 3 mill and still lose to saban. So it doesnt really matter who we hire.

With the talent on LSU's roster, I think a lot of coaches could come in and win big. The kicker is whether or not the guy could recruit like Les and keep bringing in the talent.

Well id bet more guys bolt for the NFl with a new hire. Meaning that guy would have to hit the ground running bringing in top talent, he aint going to do that with a month left before signing day.

Could say good bye to all the current oos commits that dont have a family member on the team. Would also be easier for a guy like brossette to choose UT. Considering you woudnt have the coaches and their children constantly in your ear at Uhigh.

When Les was hired did you say "YES.........frick YES!!!! Best possible coach out there and we landed him.....YES.... frick YES!!"

I keep seeing people say this, and the honest answer to your question is: No, I personally questioned the Miles hire. See, at that time, LSU had just lost what I was pretty sure could have gone down as the best Coach in LSU history.

And then they hired Les, and I said, "wow. not sure how he can perform."

And here it is, 10 years later, and Les Miles is, in fact, the most successful football coach in LSU HISTORY.

And he replaced what we all now know as the most successful football coach in NCAA for the past 50 years. Personally, I feel Saban will do down as the best 2 or 3 of all time. I sure hope I'm wrong, because I hate that little fricker.

But without a doubt, he will will never be considered the most successful coach in LSU history, that distinction currently belongs to the man so many on this board want gone.

I would venture to guess, most of those same people did not start watching LSU games until right after Dinardo left LSU.

But honestly who is out there that LSU could realistically hire that would come in and win 80% of his games?

Any competent coach who knows how to maintain what is now a top 10 job in the nation. You can win a national title at LSU with nothing but in state talent with a few out of state recruits sprinkled in.

Should I be careful?

He is an interesting guy.

He is 57 so definitely not young. Gotta wonder how long he wants to coach.

He is definitely building something at Marshall. I feel like he is just waiting on WVU to pull the trigger on Holgorsen and to give him a call.

WVU alumni, coached there for 20 years (frick)

shite if I was WVU i would 100% call this guy at the end of this year.

But yeah it is hard to tell with these small conference guys. He also plays no one.

I know i know, Urban Meyers. But he actually beat a few teams from automatic qualifier schools. what we would now call power 5.

Why do people say this? If you think we will win another ship with Les, you believe in the mythical unicorn.
