Not sure....He is currently under contract, and most likely awaiting to see who gets hired as new HC in ATL before making a decision.
Hanni didn't say a deal was done, he said he liked the name he heard and liked where we were going with it

The confounding piece of info is the secrecy.
I think this points to an NFL hire. I'm not sure of anyone else that would need/want to delay.

The Falcons suck and have sucked on Defense under him. Under everybody really. I don't ever remember being worried about Atlanta's D.

I would blame the inexperience and injuries of their defense. He didn't have much to work with imo.

6). LSU has become an NFL farm team with talent. Direction of program appears to be on the decline (amongst fans and media). Loss of Chavis was a surprise.
7). National championship is Monday at 8:30 ET. Potential hire announcement would be huge. Would lead the ticker and conversations. Reasonably we can assume, Miles and LSU understand this kind of PR.
8). NFL Playoffs continue to eliminate teams thus clearing the way for a hire.
9). Most other major CFB programs appear to have solidified their coaching staffs.
What does this mean? No idea....but I'd speculate it's a current NFL DC. If we don't know by tommorow, then the one they've zeroed in on is still in the playoffs. Pure guess is it is Del Rio.

If nothing leaked and we hired Smart, everyone would have been blown away. Not to say everyone would be thrilled, but it would undoubtedly be a huge surprise.
