Amen to that. What we do know is it's entirely predictable, outside of Les Mile's trick plays.

i wish he'd adopt a playbook like the saints or eagles, but he won't. he wants to run HIS offense

ok, if it's the playbook, why isn't kevin kolb playing for the eagles? there is a distinc difference in offensive production in the eagle offense when vick is behind center vs kolb. why did they draft desean jackson, maclin, and mccoy the last three season's to replace mcnabb, reggie brown, and westbrook.

saints would have just as much success w/o breese, colston, thomas, ect. because it's sean peyton's playbook? he can produce the same numbers with chase daniels?

why is mike mcarthy so much of a better play caller at green bay than with the saints? could it be he has rogers, jennings, driver and solid o-line vs brooks, horn, ect and a weak o-line?

plays work based on personnel, execution, timing, and knowing what play works against certain defensive formations/calls. not because it's a jimbo play, peyton play, crowton play, reid play, or whomever.

I think Crowton is candidate for this job. I saw Rabalais of the Advocate make some comment about Crowton and this HC position a few weeks ago.

i saw it. what does that have to do with what i'm saying? if you believe that offense worked because it was jimbo's play, scheme, or whatever, then why couldn't or wouldn't they use the same damn plays as in 2007? the answer, they could and can. if they used these same plays, which they do a lot, then why aren't they successful? the same freaking coach in 2007 is at lsu in 2010. he know's these same plays, he called them in 2007. you really believe and think he chooses plays that don't work and know's of one's that do?

for some reason, you are having a problem understanding. it doesn't matter who's play/offense it is, was, or will be. it's the player who can execute the play that is called. i don't believe crowton forgot how to call a play in a situation that will result in success as he did in 2007.

with that said, i'm not here stating crowton should be kept or advocating he's the best o.c. in the country. i really don't care.

i'm on here to help guy's like you that believe this silly argument that the 2007 offense worked because it was a jimbo play/offense.

how the hell did crowton have success in his first year at oregon, at b.y.u, at chicago, at la. tech. w/o jimbo's plays/offense.

this has to be the most asinine, ignorant, stupid, argument i've seen.

people who believe this have to believe jordan jefferson is the equivalent to matt flynn, kevin kolb to michael vick, chase daniel to drew breese, john brantley to tim tebow, gilbert to colt mccoy.

there is more to offense than the person calling the play.

the fact is he does choose plays that have not worked..... i.e. option to the short side of the field....

now i don't believe either of the QBs here have been developed into SEC caliber QBs. again that falls on GC though..

oh, i don't believe it worked just because it was Jimbo's offense. I believe it worked because the personell here had been under that offense for 4 years and knew how to run it. We have personell that have been running GC's offense for 3+ years now and it simpley hasn't improved.. well, ok, it has improved some, from ranked 100+ to being ranked 90+....

then why did his offenses trend downward after year one at all or most of these stops???

hardly.. i don't believe that either JJ or JL are very good at this point in their career, and i'm not sure they will get any better under the current staff....

i agree, but the play caller and play runner have to work hand in hand.... just as the play runners have not been good, neither has the play caller(s)...

What? The offense we ran this year did not look like any offense Jimbo ran here. Maybe we ran some plays this year that Jimbo used to run, but the offense was much closer to Crowton's spread offense he ran in Oregon.

thank you, that's is my point and we actually agree. we don't have the same talent on offense as we did in 2007. that is the difference. if this means crowton has to go, then so be it.

i don't view him as a solid recruiter or talent evaluator. with that said, not sure it's all on him. it's up to the offensive coaches to get a solid core of o-lineman, which they have struggled to do. a solid full back to run the offense they want to run, which they have struggled to do. And, a quality qb, which they have struggled to do. (the last one lies more on g.c.).

i don't care who the o.c. is, whomever can get the peaces to run an effective offense, that's what needs to be looked at. it's up to miles to decide if gary needs to be a part of getting those peaces or he feels he can provide the peaces to gary. either way, get the peaces and you won't care who the o.c. is, i promise.

does anyone know an offensive players personally, and what do they think(not asking for names). Do they want crowton back or are they looking for better.

That's why Miles trick plays work so well.

Thing is, you can't compete for championships with a handful of plays every season

So Booty, Rohan, Mauck, Russell, and Flynn all improved each year with Jimbo, you hold him accountable for Randall not developing into an SEC level QB?

First time I have been able to get here since the weekend.

Wondering why my post got deleted around Christmas day. It mentioned Crowton's family likes it here more than anywhere else they have been.

Why would that get whacked? I'm curious.

Huh? I'm pretty sure it was in the context of Crowton leaving and someone mentioned (jokingly) that maybe the family was tired of the death threats. It was in direct relation to that statement so there shouldn't have been any reason for the confusion.

CROWTON'S FAMILY is happier here than anywhere they have been. (Which I find odd because of the insane irrationality of this fan base at times)

Randall wasn't drafted to play qb scout.

And Iowa I don't think you got it
