Why are you still here? You’re beneath OweO as far as I’m concerned after what you did.

Yeah, you might see the fan base get upset with him after a loss or playoff defeat, but once another season starts anew they forget all about last year. LSU fans are far less forgiving and far more demanding. It's not like Riley would be walking into an easy job. The pressure to win big immediately is there, especially with the talent on both sides of the ball at LSU. Plus he'd be going from the "defense optional" Big12, to basically the NFL minor league.
I live amongst the OU faithful. I see how much they love Riley. Even if he drops a couple games a season that OU has no business losing, he's still more than secure. LSU fired Les Miles who averaged 10 wins a season.

made a decision.
But did he?
No one aside from Woodward really knows. To say it in such absolute terms isn't being realistic.
No one knows what the offer even is. I do think it's substantial though. That's just my opinion but I don't see Woodward not pulling out all the stops for who he wants. He knows this hire is for the largest revenue maker out of the athletic programs (no disrespect to baseball, basketball, golf, swimming, etc).
He has to shoot for a proven name. I think he legitimately has offered Riley. How much, I have no idea but I do think an offer has been made.

OU provides way more stability for him, his wife, and young children. He's already set up, they have friends, he just built a house, etc.
I get what you're saying here but if this offer from LSU would provide better stability for his wife, kids, and so forth, it would be hard to walk away from it.
I think he'd do better at LSU, particularly from a recruiting standpoint.
I think it's up to him to walk away from.
The question is does OU match or want to offer more?

I don't believe scott woodward goes anywhere close to 15 mil.
12 would be crazy.

Is he perhaps leveraging Oklahoma to bump him up for the eventual Cowboys offer he may really want longterm?
Posted on 11/18/21 at 12:28 am to Chalkywhite84
Probably not, I feel like 12.5 is the absolute ceiling

I have to agree. Even Saban isn't making that much annually.
But I could see Woodward making an offer that's hard to walk away from.

I know nothing.
But if you're asking who do I want personally, I want Riley. I'd be let down if it's Napier. Nothing against the guy, don't get me wrong.

It's not a coincidence that mel tucker is about to sign a contract for 95 mil.

He's probably a multimillionaire anyway. He wants the hardware! I want a coach who has a desire to be our coach ! I don't have a clue about Napier but if he wants to come or if Aranda really wants to come back, come on, And maybe other coaches know you can't please LSU fans. I mean Miles refused to change, O has changed and changed just like we clamored for,
2019 -NC, COVID , 2 yrs removed and we want him fired, and maybe these are 2 good coordinators that needed time to hell. If the money and power went to his head, I'm pretty sure he's got good company !
Success , money, power can F u UP ! I want to try I think I could keep my ego in check and not totally F my life up

And winning championships. Won’t be doing that at Oklahoma.
