That might be true but it doesn't necessarily mean Riley is the guy. Campbell hasn't been extended. I'm sure there are others.

There’s absolutely no way in hell that Oklahoma reporters with inside access to the program are going to report Riley to LSU the night before their 2nd biggest rivalry game and a shot at the conference championship.

Brandon Drumm (OU 247 staff) just dropped an early AM Saturday update. Cliff notes:
- LSU & Riley talks are in their “infancy”
- Riley is happy at OU but needs guarantees around support staff and program investments
- OU needs to meet demands quickly. If they do, he stays. If they dont, he leaves

Reads to me that OU still has a chance at this. OU AD is probably letting things slip to show boosters that this is really happening if they don't pony up and pay.

When I went to sleep, the line from the 247 OU insiders was "without getting into details, I can confirm he is definitely staying."

And this is why it’s going to happen. They view themselves as an Alabama level program and can’t envision why anyone would ever leave when in reality, they haven’t won a NC in over 2 decades.

Here’s the Elephant in the room no one in Sooner sports wants to admit. OU is deep in debt bleeding cash to the tune of $40MM + annually, and they don’t want to justify another $250MM capital outlay just to keep a football coach. They’re in the Alleva /FuKing box we were in during the 2016/2017 seasons.
