He only calls out referee BS when it’s not in the benefit of Alabama.

He’s a gump

Makes sense. Except the Egg Bowl is next weekend.

Next Friday, to be exact.

That's why I'm saying that if OM loses and is, in effect, knocked out of the CFP, then you "may" hear something next week. Late next week. But still next week.

The problem with that is if you don't go somewhere with the resources to get you where you need to go, you may not be at that job long so all the non-football reasons could be null and void. Do I think he could be successful at Florida? Yes. But he will have to keep winning to keep Miami and FSU from stealing in-state recruits. At LSU, you are the only big dog in-state. He will have recruits, more money for NIL, and LSU pays assistant coaches very well. How much is Florida willing to invest? My opinion: Sexton is using Florida and having media to push Florida to get the most out of LSU or Ole Miss.

I agree with you on all fronts. I just think Kiffin legit hadn't made a decision yet. A lot to weigh, and its a life defining and legacy defining decision. Could also see Kififn still having some NFL interest

Losing the Egg bowl doesn’t knock them out of the playoffs. 10-2 and they’re still in the mix depending on what happens Saturday.

So, even though you totally knew the egg bowl wasn’t this weekend, your timeline still doesn’t work.

Lane will have to make a decision before that game is ever played.

I get sideline passes and I don't know shite about Lane's intentions.

So all he said was that a decision won’t be made on Friday but might be made on Monday? Now that’s some great insight!

Just don’t want people wasting away on this board for the next 96 hours when they could be making bread and cracking hose

No he won't. LSU and Florida aren't going anywhere next week.

If he wins, the decision is made. He's not bailing on Ole Miss and LSU/Florida aren't waiting until late December to hire a coach.

If he loses, it becomes a 2021 Brian Kelly situation. Ole Miss will still be "in the mix", but it won't be a lock because they would fall into a glut of teams with 2 losses and Ole Miss's resume suddenly becomes very suspect among that group. Their SOS is weak and their only notable win would be vs. Oklahoma. At that point you MAY see Kiffin hedge that OM will get left out and make a move with both Florida and LSU pushing. Just like BK did in 2021 with ND technically "still in the mix"

I agree, I watch him regularly and he’s better than most here give him credit for. I would certainly rather watch him than anything espn or fox offers for college football nowadays

LSU and Florida aren’t waiting until early December, if they can help it.

Early signing day is December 3-5. Any school without a direction is going to lose recruits. The transfer portal is Jan. 2-16. Any hired coach needs time to get his staff set, evaluate the roster, see who is leaving and set up a target board on who to bring in. Not to mention start cultivating relationships with the current players to try and keep them from transferring.

If LSU and UF wait until after the Egg bowl to start moving on other candidates they will be in a terrible position.

I never said they were waiting until early signing day. I said they would be willing to wait NEXT WEEK, November 23-29. Just because they would be waiting for Kiffin doesn't mean they aren't simultaneously pursuing other options. If fact, it would be gross negligence if they aren't

The ESD isn't as big of a deal as the transfer portal now. They will be willing to sacrifice that (to some degree) if it means getting their No. 1 choice. I suspect they would give Kiffin a few days after the Egg Bowl to make a decision (probably through that following Sunday). But I think if Ole Miss wins the Egg Bowl Kiffin's decision is made. He loves the attention, but he's not bailing on Ole Miss ahead of the playoffs.

If OM loses the Egg Bowl, then things become much more interesting. Ole Miss will no longer be a lock for the CFP and Kiffin knows he will have to decide what he wants to do shortly after the egg bowl because LSU and Florida will have to move on. Like I said, it will be Brian Kelly 2.0. Technically OM will still be alive for the CFP. But he runs the risk of losing out on the LSU/Florida opportunity while also missing the CFP if he waits. That will likely force his hand...just like it did with BK.

My prediction is simple. If Ole Miss beats Miss. St you can cross Kiffin off the list.

Pretty good take. Kiffin has said all along he is focused on making the most of this season. If they win, he probably stays and goes to playoffs. But absent signing the extension, the distraction is real and the odds of losing the Egg Bowl go up. Lose that, and he is gone.

Makes more sense than anything I've read all week.
