The only reason in posting this was to have some fun as we are in a waiting mode and maybe generate some responses on what reaction his impossible hypothetical hire would have. Just think, if Mulkey drew a crowd for her announcement, Nick could probably pack Tiger Stadium.

Yes I was around then. Don’t get me wrong. Saban was great here and I’m thankful for that. HE IS NOT COMING BACK! Move on

Bama melt would be epic and I certainly don't want him to leave. If he had unfinished business or went elsewhere 5 years ago, I couldn't begrudge him. At this point, his best chance to finish his opus is only one place. He's done enough... I'm grateful he's not satisfied.
PS - I do wonder if Saban had stayed at LSU (or been welcomed back), what would have happened. Would LSU have become the 2000's version of the '90s Nebraska.

Dude hired Bill O’Brien as an O Coordinator. I think he’s slipping.

May as well pretend his daughter is a solid 10 and Kiffin pulled some great arse.

I thought the same thing. What if Saban was given multi-year conract to right the ship then retire in Baton Rouge so a Jeremy Caldwell type coach could then take over a highly successful team.
Saban, believing that he has accomplished all that he could in Tuscaloosa might welcome the challenge to return LSU football into a powerhouse.
Far fetched, but I'd love it.

I don't think Bama melt would be that great.

Greatest coach to ever live...
LSU was his ticket to superstar status...

If Auburn upsets Bama on Saturday because of a coaching blunder and the fans go off on him as being washed up, etc. then I could see him getting pissed off enough to walk off the podium and call up SW and ask if the job was still open.
Now that would be a news conference I would pay to attend.

We'd be living in a football version of Man In the High Castle.
