Yes, there is a guy out there that's much better than both as an OC and HC.
Leach! Leach!

Krags numbers seem a little more positive. I like that at A&M and Tulsa they improved each season. Louisville dropping numbers certainly could be effected by the "cleansing" he had to do when he arrived.
Also, did he ever have as much offensive talent at any of those schools as he might have here at LSU? Sure he had a few good players along the way... but nothing like here.

I've seen this sentiment in a number of posts by different people and while I obviously don't disagree with the improved talent level, it seems to me that in judging ability/success level of the OC, this is a mute point. At the programs with inferior talent, these coaches also coached against inferior talent. Our talented team will be matched up against some of the best defenses in the country on a regular basis.

Give me Fuente based on this data
Posted on 1/19/11 at 9:29 pm to The Mick
I included Fuente too...check original post

I had my doubts about Fuente...but after the last two days, please, PLEASE, sign that man up for the job.
Posted on 1/19/11 at 9:31 pm to PetermanFanClub
I know. I'm saying my choice would be Fuente.

None of these guys have played in a league with any defense. I give the edge to Krag. Fuente looks good, but I would expect LSU to only be a short pitt stop.

So you want an OC who will never become a hot HC candidate? Sounds like mediocrity to me.

I disagree with that statement. They dont have to be an up and coming guy. I favor stability over age and willinness to become a HC and move on quick

2005 Tulsa HC #39
2006 Tulsa HC #24
2007 Louisville HC #6
2008 Louisville HC #45
2009 Louisville HC #91
Two stops where he more or less improved year after year. One where he did not. Anyone know if he lost a QB between 2008 and 2009?

Yes... a couple of the articles I posted earlier said he was still trying to pick a starting QB heading into the 2009 season.

Yuck.
And Sanford is putrid.
Hire Fuente already!

Fuente is NOT in the final 2. So forget about him.

Does the final two include Sanford and Kragthorpe?
I got all excited over Crowton's exit for THIS!?
What a great big steaming pile of monkey shite this OC search is turning out to be.

Yes, he did have major personnel problems.
But what worries me about the drop off from 2008 is that he fired his OC and started calling the plays himself in 2009...and was promptly fired himself before the end of November.
Yeah...that really hurts the resume a bit...
