Nobody made aphone call to get him the job with haywood. They knew each other from haywood's days at lsu!
Yeah I mean the same time as his son's recruitment he became a hot coaching commodity in the MAC because he was coaching a Division IAA school at McNeese that hadn't been dominating defensively enough to even make the top 8 of the national championship race since 2002.
I watch and follow McNeese regularly.......All my friends played for McNeese from 2000-2004 under Tommy Tate........and Lance Guidry's D wasn't nearly as good as 2000, 2002, or 2003.

I've read the Guidry quotes and know the timeline. Lance and JJ are scumbags, not because they left, because they lied and lied and lied.
There was no reason to frick over LSU and Les like they did, but they went ahead and did it.

Who is his son ? JJ ?

quote:Kiffy-kins wanted Darren Myles and he signed on signing day locking him in and JJ announced a couple of days later. Myles likely would not have signed w/ UT if JJ was on board. So these two frickwads were complicite in fricking over another recruit.

Agreed, both are scum. If JJ wanted to sign with another school, that's fine, it's his choice. But the way these two screwed lied and tried to embarrass LSU is despicable.

How in the F**K can you say he can't coach? He coached on of if not THE best db in the country himself!
LOL
That makes absolutely no sense.

The fact that he bashed Cooper's coaching abilities is absolutely hilarious in retrospect. There may be a few better DB coaches in the country but I'm not aware of them.

Lance coached at the college level (McNeese St.). He got a job with Haywood at Miami (OH).
he was also a high school assistant at the time he landed the Miami job. Once he runs out of hood rats to impregnate, his coaching career will return to where it should be.

LG was a DC @ 26/27 years old and coached some of the best defensive teams McNeese has ever seen. Dude can flat out coach even a dumb arse could recognize the mans talent. Is he and JJ a couple of complete tools for what they did to LSU and have they been a classless display character, YES ABSOLUTElY!!!
Is LG a legit coach @ Miami OH and could he coach at a SEC school or major D1 program one day?
I don't doubt it for a second.

Is he a Coach?
How many clinics has he ever been too?
Does he know Lances reputation prior to the JJ debacle?
Was Lance ever offered other college opportunities but decided to coach his son who was btw the best DB in the country coming out of HS?

No michael haywood just happened to land the miami oh job when jj was a senior and therefore, he hired the best secondary coach that he could find that he knew. Lance guidry! Boom that! And lance had already gone back to mcneese before going north. He was not at cro at the time.
The whole ron cooper/guidry thing is nuts and who ever said that guidry could easily coach in the s e c is absolutely correct. He's as good as they come from and x and o and teaching standpoint in the secondary.
Also, a lot of high school coaches and college coaches aren't that different from a developing a scheme and x and o standpoint. Just saying.

None that I have known.

Simply saying that just because guidry coached in high school not long ago doesn't mean that from a x and o standpoint he isn't as good as cooper or any other "well known" secondary coaches in america. I think most would be very suprised at how good a lot of high school coaches are. Many high school coaches "could" coach at the college level.

Guys, lg is about to be the db coach at pitt. That is big time college football. Why is haywood bringing him along? Hmmm? Maybe because he is a GOOD coach! Do you really think that haywood would put his 1 million dollar a year contract at bcs school (his shot to prove himself) in jeopardy because he needs to continue doing a favor. Jeez, you guys amaze me.
Not to mention, that for 1 game, guidry will lead a D1 program in a bowl game. Somebody thinks he can coach.
