Detillier knows as much inside info on the LSU coaching search as my dog does.

Nah. Hannigriff said yesterday Orgeron lost his chance. Unless O- can bring in a Kiffin or Sark, it's not happening. Even if that was the case, Orgeron won't retained if Jimbo or Herman want to come here.

I think so too. I think people like the drama too much though.

This is more about the fact that O is being mentioned at all. And there are some out there in the media who still want him like T-Bob, etc. If he wins big today, I fear the media might jump back on the train. That's a scary thought for those of us who don't believe he's a viable option period.

Whether or not he's still actually being considered is unknown. But this talk in the media is worrisome, IMO

No one ever said "has to win out". I'd heard if he wins out, you have to give it to him but never that he had to win out to be considered

It's just common sense... For a Dline coach that failed in his previous stint as a HC, his ONLY chance to be a legitimate candidate was to do something "special." Now everyone's definition of special might be a tad different, but everyone with a brain knows 2-3 losses doesn't qualify.

It was a longshot for O to begin with, and it didn't work out.

There is ZERO chance Orgeron is getting the job.

Yes, but would he be a greater failure than hiring O? Probably not.

This.

Don't get me wrong, I love Coach O. He's a phenomenal D-Line coach, a great recruiter, and has injected some much needed life and hope into this team when Miles had made LSU football stale and unwatchable. I think everyone appreciates that from him.

However, while it's true that Alleva is a moron, and his incompetence is one of the few things our fan base can actually agree upon, there's no way he doesn't understand that this hire has to be huge for the future of the program and the future of his whole career.
